Not so sure how sound that logic is. Wolfenstein The New Order had no MP whatsoever and it is a fine FPS....Originally Posted by Sabotur Go to original post
Not necessarily, a single player FPS is still a FPS. The two genres have enough diverse elements to keep them separated, however over the years they have combined. Along with this the gaming industry still has a diverse amount of players, while yes people primarily think of FPS as nothing but multi-player, there are some out there that specifically play single player FPS. Not to mention....most "Multi-player only" FPS now come bundled with a single-player and/or co-op experienceOriginally Posted by Sabotur Go to original post
I personally prefer a mixture, I don't mind playing Multi-player but I am not massively competitive unless with friends. The only ranked FPS I play is CS:GO and I do not touch others unless they have a casual/quick play. Moving back to Far Cry, I primarily play for the single-player and co-op...it is still a FPS even though I do not touch MP, however I wouldn't state to remove it just because I don't touch it.
In other words, I understand your sentiment but that last sentence of yours kind of rubs me the wrong way![]()
In the order of hardware game needs Intel Core i5-2400S 2.5GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) and +16 GB of RAM. These are not the official Far Cry 5 System Requirements but these hardware you must have to play Far Cry 5 in my opinion.![]()
To Clarify: We have not divulged min and rec specs as of yet, any specs that are floating about are of opinion or loosely based off previous specs of games. We will have information about specs at a later date, though there is no harm in discussing themOriginally Posted by aamir24 Go to original post
As mentioned, I understand what you are saying since you are not wrong, if I remember correctly the divide between multi-player and single-player is something like a 60-40 percentage, though while most people do primarily play FPS for the multi-player; a FPS doesn't have to be solely defined just for that aspect (Unless of course only has the MP component)Originally Posted by Sabotur Go to original post
Though one thing I have noticed over the years is how tastes and trends change. By this I mean that years ago I was only about single-player, only multi-player games I touched were Quake III and Unreal Tournament '99. Now, I play quite a few MP games but that's also because of the inclusion of single-player and co-op.
As times change, so do the games. 20 years ago, single-player games were single-player and multi-player games were multi-player, over the years, the MP only games have gained SP components and vice-versa For me the only problem with all of that is the fact it really shows how average my skills are against other Humans XD
I would say that Far Cry's Multiplayer MUST create it's own identity.
With the Instincts series only on Xbox the MP was fast paced, you could go prone, 12 vehicles in PM and 5 top quality game modes, 16 players online with a hosting lobby where you could swap sides and dedicated servers and you could even host 4 teams against each other and duel hold weapons, weapon and ammo / health placement.
Far Cry 2 6 vehicles in MP - weapon class system, 4 good MP modes, it was much slower paced and had auto heal as well as team mates can heal, the actual player movement was clunky and turning was a pain, also that malaria blurred effect when sprinting was dreadful - But again it had Dedicated Servers, excellent hosting options and a lobby - and a map browser to dlwnload and upload maps. For me FC2 MP was a piece of crap without the lobby and hosting options it would have been dead in the water on day one.
FC3 brough in a COD style with perks, air strikes, gone were the lobbies and dedicated servers - it was a disgrace trying to play user made maps - even finding the map editor and map archive needed a degree for some people.
The MP modes were ok but they mostly played to the end of the timer, Lots of players left so teams were often lop sided, the editor had awful draw distance on consoles so some items were not worth using - Fire Storm mode was a con and MP was as buggy as hell, it tried but maybe needed another 6 months to a year - plus no vehicles in MP what were they thinking.
FC4 yet again changes the formula and now goes for this One team Attacks and one team defends then we swap over, taking minimum of about 25 mins with 10 mins per round, one team has conventional guns and vehicles and the others have magic, bows and arrows which some hate using and can only ride elephants - never in a million years was that going to make the previous MP fans happy - It could have been cool in it's own game mode but to create the MP game around it - pathetic. The Mask mode (whatever the name was) maybe the best one but everything about that game was confusing even upgrading skills and weapons - FC4 MP No Thanks, that's a blue print on how to pi$$ people off who liked the previous MP.
So here we are with Far Cry 5
This time it needs to be somewhere close to making people happy giving a lot of what people liked from the previous MP games and hopefully if they do the business it needs to create it's own identity and grasp it so that anyone new to the franchise can know what MP will be like before buying, too often the formula has changed so drastically that the previous fans hate the new MP and that repeats with every version of the game so FC2, FC3, FC4 - At some point we need to say enough lets get the best bits and create a really cool game thats fun which we can all enjoy then stick to that winning formula.
I hope and believe that with FC5 we might this time be a lot happier than we were over the last 7 years - I hear Ubisoft Montreal is making this one, they made the Instincts MP and FC2 so if it's true we are in good hands.
... he said it was not official and was his opinion of what the min. specs should be...Originally Posted by Viragoxv535 Go to original post
I am cautiously optimistic for the MP in FC5. I'm deliberately keeping my expectations to a minimum, so if it's any good at all it'll be a nice little surprise. If there is fun to be had I'll have to find more players who are into it. Thankfully it seems the player count is fairly low so finding a whole team shouldn't be to difficult, haha
What article? The only source for his post was his mind...Originally Posted by Viragoxv535 Go to original post
Instincts was the only game where I actually made a map and got people to play it. I made one for FC2 but never got a game on it... mostly because by then I was over the MP mode because it was not good...Originally Posted by Fallen-Champ Go to original post
