    What Far Cry 5 Needs

I know these points have been beaten like a dead horse by the community already, but I'm gunna beat it some more because Ubisoft has stopped listening to us after Far Cry 2 came out and all of the members of the old community are jaded and mistrusting of the dev team. So here I am, laying out some facts.

    1. I for one, and most likely most of the community veterans as well, will not pre-order the game unless multiplayer support is announced and it is confirmed that we can create multiplayer maps. Personally, I wont even bother buying the game if there is no multiplayer map editor because that is the sole reason I even became a fan of Far Cry in the first place.

    2. A lobby system similar to Far Cry 2 is absolutely imperative for multiplayer to succeed in the slightest, and not burn out a month or two after release. I encourage the devs to pop in an old copy of far cry 2 and check it out, and see that there is STILL to this day, an active multiplayer community.

    3. At least 4 multiplayer modes, featuring at least 14 players online. Bonus points if the multiplayer modes can be customized like Halo 3/4/5 Custom games. Examples of popular game modes, capture the flag/sample/diamond, predator, deathmatch/team deathmatch, survival/team survival, domination/zone control, king of the hill, search and destroy, the list goes on and on...

    4. See 1 and 2.

    5. See 1 and 2 again.

Campaign has been solid the last few games, so im not too concerned there honestly. The campaign in FC3 was f'n fantastic, at least the first half. What I cant seem to understand is why they continually butcher multiplayer over and over again. Please ubisoft, I know you read through the forums regularly, address us as to why you seem to avoid addressing anything about multiplayer and map editor over and over again. You purposely mislead and betrayed the community with Far Cry 4, a slight ALL of us remember, and it appears you seem to be headed down the same path again with Far Cry 5. We can all see it, were not stupid, like it appears you think we are. So please, give us the respect we deserve and stop misleading us and treating us like children.

    Rant over.

I only hope that one day there will be no multiplayer at all! I see FarCry as only individual surviving game! When you are alone! And surviving in this severe and cruel world full of danger. Gaggling with friends is for GTA!

Totally agree. I've never been interested in Multiplayer anything. I play games like FC to get away from people, not to interact with them. However, I assume there is a sizable market of those who do like it, but if it's done badly or not done at all, Ubi won't lose any credit with me.

People will never be satisfied with a FC2 like experience. Today's communists zombies need a lot of guidance and hand holding.

I don't necessarily see a lack of hand-holding as the issue. FC2 held the player's hand for probably the first hour of the game. FC2 had a bevy of issues outside of hand holding tutorialization and player freedom. Honestly I don't think freedom has been dialed back any with the newer games, though they have added some additional hand holding elements. FC2's issues, at least for me, came mostly from controls and what I would consider questionable design choices, which a few of the devs themselves have owned up to in post-mortem interviews & such. Things like a poorly balanced economy system, 30 second enemy respawns and less than responsive controls.

As to the topic, I think one thing they could stand to add to the game is more depth to vehicles in basically every respect. The sense of speed should be worked on and upped in general, there should be more detailed damage models (ramming a truck head on with a semi should crumple the hell out of the truck) better physics on the vehicles themselves and more intense crashes (for example I'd love if a truck was flooring it down the road toward me & I shoot out it's front tire for it to screech sideways & flip multiple times). I just think they could add more detail to vehicles along with multiple other facets of the game to make it all the more enjoyable...

in far cry 2 i do not think you could access the southern region from the start he said it has not been dialed back any more and freedom to access parts of the map does not even seem to be the only thing they are talking about but the leaving mission area thing does need to go away or at the very least they need to make it so you just abandon the mission and have to start it over without failing the mission and sitting thru a load screen to restart it

In Primal the Udam Land is technically accessible but practically off limit.

Plus - since Far Cry 3 - the omnipresent "Leaving mission zone" message.

Things seem to have changed in Far Cry 5 though.
Access to portions of the map isn't really the sort of freedom I was referring to, having half of the map restricted until the story unlocked it never really bothered me when it was contextually justified in the narrative... I was talking more about the moment to moment freedom modern open world games provide, and the freedom to tackle various activities in any way you choose.

Odd.. I actually remember to have been able to cross the desert from the start. Maybe it was unlocked via mod..
Far Cry 3's Ziggy's mod for example lets you access the second island from the start.
Yeah, doesn't count if a mod makes it possible. I don't game on a comp, so...

I will tend to agree with this as I am not a multiplayer nor do I use the co-op support. Well said GameGuru2018.

I disagree that FC should shift to be a single player only game. I really enjoyed the coop of FC4, and am very happy it'll be returning in FC5. Also there are quite a large number of map makers who thoroughly enjoy creating maps for the MP mode and yourself & guru are basically supporting the idea that they should all be abandoned for no justifiable purpose....

Problem is your definition of a better experience won't be the same as anyone else's, and so while you may enjoy what you consider a better SP, everyone who wanted MP for map making are left hanging so that another niche group's desires could be answered... at least as it is now I think the widest group of players have the potential to glean a level of enjoyment from the games...
