We all know:
The big man needs some love.
He has a limited moveset which really can't open up defences.
We can use this thread to post some buff ideas for the Shugoki which make him much more viable on the battlefield without making him op.
-Constant hyperarmor:
I think it would be some kind of too strong but I post this idea anyways.
You can't get rid of his hyperarmor with attacks. Only with gb or putting him oos. Which gives him the possibility to fight more aggressive without getting punished too much.
-Gb can't break hyperarmor
Self explanatory. Gb can't break his hyperarmor anymore which gives him some kind of immunity to wall punishes.
-Confirmed attacks generate hyperarmor
Every time he hits his opponent he gets his hyperarmor back.
-Headbutt combos
He can continue a combo after a headbutt
-Unblockable combo
He can continue a combo after an unblockable.
He can start an unblockable within a combo.
-Combos in general (L=Light; H=Heavy)
Combo ideas:
Infinite chain: L or H
L L L
H H H
L H H
H L L
H H L
L L H
L H L
H L H
Every attack (no matter at the beginning or within a combo) can lead to a headbutt.
Every heavy can start an unblockable. Within a combo a combo can be continued after an unblockable.
-Demon's Embrace gives him more health if successful.
-Charge of the Oni
It doesn't throw opponents to the ground anymore which makes it pretty useless. So I think if it hits it puts you instantly oos. Or maybe nearly.
-His heavies drain stamina.
-Heavies have a chance to unbalance opponents. Only when blocked.
Just a few ideas which could be fair for the Shugoki.
I'm open for criticism and new ideas.
I have been playing Shugoki up to rep 8 lately. He is indeed in need of a buff. I like the idea that you should be able to chain in another light or heavy after a headbutt. I also think his range is abysmal, it should be slightly greater with that long club of his. Would be nice to a change of his hyper armor. Maybe you could regain it after a parry? That would make it a bit of a skill check.
We've had buffs for all the samurai heroes planned for quite some time now (shugoki included) and we're in the process of doing more balance tweaking so that all the new heroes are updated to fit with the defensive meta changes. Since we still have more def meta updates to be released, we haven't made any major balance moves just yet, but it is something we've been working on for some time.
IMO the no.1 top priority is changing the UI shield.
Normally, in other games, hyper armor is a "shield" that ADDS to your basic defenses, providing extra protection. In FH, "hyperarmor" is not an "armor" at all... it's not an extra layer of defense for the big, slow man, but rather it's hyperSKIN. You get hit once, or someone just "tags" you with a GB attempt, and your "skin" falls off, and you're down to your bare bones.
The Shug should not be receiving 25% extra damage when UI shield is off. The Shug should be receiving the same values of damage when his UI is off.
The UI should be a "shield" layer of protection that provides a 1-time +25% damage resistance.
everithing you said makes shugoky OP. maibe he needs an pepene (alltho ive see people opening with him white a lot. with the headbash actually) but constant armor or revin armor on hit or etc... cmon seman. ora hard enaugh to engage shugoki in a fight as it is anyway... giving vin more armor ora op making every attack in sibiu a potential punish with no way around it... think harder
I find myself agreeing. Constant hyper armor? Imagine been a PK or Shinobi, getting close and throwing two lights and you eat an unblockable top heavy that takes 3/4 of your health. The only things i can agree on in your list are these:Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post

Everything else would be pure cancer. I heard he was banned in certain tournaments. If this is true, why would he need a buff? Been banned is a reason for a nerf, not buffs.
