a pure naval game with less water content than black flag??? what do you mean?Originally Posted by VenomDept Go to original post
I was initially hyped for this believing it would be the ultimate pirate game and a spiritual successor to the excellent Blag Flag, being able to build upon what that game got soooo right!Originally Posted by Captain_Ryder_7 Go to original post
Then I found out it had none of that stuff.....
That's me out.
I'd rethink this one Ubisoft.
indeed!Originally Posted by LaMOi Go to original post
I love the idea of naval only.
For me, boarding a ship, treasure hunting and so on in Black Flag was the most annoying thing.
I really loved being on the sea and stearing the ship while listening to the shanties of the crew.
If ubi include boarding like in Black Flag in the game, I can see how people like you Captain_Ryder_7 will exploit it.
There won't be fun if every battle will have some annoying kids who wants to board my ship and force me into time consuming on deck battles.
And by the way, I for myself don't waste time on commenting youtube videos, so haters gonna hate like always, and it's always the haters who are shouting the loudest.
I'm well aware of people who like pure naval stuff only but you see this game has potential if it doesnt turn into another naval-only game like world of warships..more like an open world pirate game like black flag where you actually control a CHARACTER in this game...now THAT is what everyone wants for this game and if you like pure naval stuff only, there is a game called "naval action" or "holdfast" or "world of warships" and lemme tell you one thing...you know the game "BLACKWAKE"? if THAT game was a pure naval game without controlling a character in first person and without boarding battles and all that, that game would have flopped damn hard...see, a pirate game or "the ultimate pirate game" as ubi says about S&B, shouldnt contain naval stuff only..that is like I said, just ONE part of the pirate fantasy and not everything...by the way, even BLACKWAKE has islands to get on...even THAT has it! where you control a character running and jumping around freely in the ENTIRE map (which also includes SWIMMING) like I said, controlling a CHARACTER in the ENTIRE MAP! and BLACKWAKE only has 2 DEVELOPERS on it! just 2!Originally Posted by Nistrall Go to original post
Ryder the real irony here is that every thread you are in here telling people that if they want a naval only game they should go play something else, yet every time you are saying you want Skull & Bones to basically be more like Black Flag. Yes there are other naval only games out there, no we don't want to play them, we're excited for this game.Originally Posted by Captain_Ryder_7 Go to original post
We don't care about the plethora of YouTube comments you've posted.
We don't care that there are other naval only games out there we could play.
We don't care that it's not like Black Flag.
We don't care that some of the mechanics that were in Black Flag are missing here.
We DO care about waiting until we see and hear more about this game and basing our opinions on that.
Please stop crapping on anyone's opinion that isn't aligned with yours.

I loved Black Flag - its the closest a game has come to the ultimate pirate experience on console.
Skull & Bones looks like its just the naval combat bit of AC4 and not much else - so if anything, FURTHER from the ultimate pirate experience...in fact its not even a full game, given that AC4 did it along with LOTS of other piratical shenanigans.
As for it being online PvP only - no thanks

Can somebody at Ubisoft get hold of a copy of Empire of Blue Water by Stephan Talty (https://www.amazon.com/Empire-Blue-W...+of+blue+water) and give it a read?
One of the BEST books on piracy, the biography of one of the GREATEST pirates and check out his adventure on land and at sea to get an idea of what the ULTIMATE pirate experience looks like
A game based on Morgan's exploits would be INCREDIBLE!
Take Skull & Bones and put it on a separate multiplayer disc like you did with Black Flag and have the game itself follow Morgan's career from the invasion of Jamaica in 1655 to his death in 1688
Its not too late to get this right...
