A lot of people like to think of Orochi as one of the lower tier heroes in the game but in reality, if put in the right hands, he's pretty damn deadly. As before mentioned, his GB is one of the only ones that guarantee a top heavy. Perhaps he can't push very far but directionally it's almost a complete 360 degrees, so that hole behind your opponent you want to push them into might be a bit further away but the wall or obstacle to the left or right, or even in any diagonal direction, might be closer. It might just be my perception but it also looks like he has one of the quickest, although most telegraphed, guard breaks in the game.
Not sure how to explain it, maybe the way it connects, it seems easily interrupted. Like its doesn't have the pull in like other class have. Feels like when you go in for GB any movement from opponent causes it to fail. Say they take a swing, you go in for GB, you see the grab flash, but the next swing they do, breaks it. Like the animation doesn't pull them into the GB. Maybe it's a delay on my end, but I don't see it happen when I am playing other class.
You might just be timing it wrong or performing guard breaks at inopportune times. Orochi's are counter attackers, most everything they do is in direct response to whatever move the opponent last performed. If you get close to the target, without doing anything to try and open them up first, it's easy for them to assume you'll go for a guard break. Instead of CGB, they could just attack which immediately cancels out your GB every time.
OR
You're just severely unlucky every time you go for the GB. I'd say don't go for it unless you know you can get one in without it being interrupted. It boils down to timing and anticipation. Probably just need to practice.
