Mostly known info in there, and sad to see that it seems the fire propagation is toned down yet again. However the adaptive dialog from mission givers sounds handy.

I was glad they made it so you had the repair tool when contextually appropriate, and I've definitely snuck up on enemies and started them on fire with it cause I was playing coop with a friend who didn't believe you could do it.. it got a few chuckles...

Yeah cause cranking a bolt on the engine block will fix all the damage the car took from gunfire is so much more realistic than welding the car's headlight fixes all the blown tires. I mean, att least with the torch you can keep it out and go light a guy on fire with it for a spot of, brace yourself, fun! haha, the car repair in FC is never really going to be super believable, but personally I'd rather have a set up that potentially has more uses than a one off animation based system ala FC2. Perhaps that is something they could do is come up with other scenarios in which we use the blow-torch. There could be mission objectives or side-quests that utilize it, thus making more use & increasing the value of the function....

There is not even any expansion of functionality taking place, you could do everything they're talking about in FC4 already. I would assume they make it a blow torch simply to make it possible to repair the vehicle from any angle rather than having to initiate a specific animation on the engine.

    ?

FC4 and I think FC3 also had the welding tool, I dont think many people knew how to use it though.

Yeah they did. In FC3 though it was something you had to equip in a weapon slot at the shops so I don't think many people used it at all. FC4 made it a context appropriate equip-able utility that you can swap to when facing a damaged vehicle. It sounds to me like that is how it works again in FC5 so thats good.

I used it in both games and did so occasionally on attackers as well!

It appears as though it is once again something you retain in your inventory and so if that is the case and there is another item we can equip in it's stead I doubt I'll pack around the repair tool. Rarely ever fixed the vehicles in FC, as you're never so far away from another that it ever really seemed necessary. I don't mind hoofin' it now & again...

I usually walked/ran about in the game (all FCs) as well, but in FC3 and 4 having the tool was a good idea as after I shot up the BG's ride (if it was done before it exploded), I'd usually repair it to use it, if it was a turret vehicle. It was always good to use it on my buzzer as well as that machine would take a little damage too, from the BG's shooting at the player.
