    Factions' team up

I don't know how current team up works ( I mean not organized groups ) but I often find myself (a knight) in a team with vikings and samurai, against a team with 2 or 3 knights. This means that if I win the game it's bad for my faction in terms of factions' war.
Wouldn't be cool to team up with random players of your same faction?

A matchmaking filter that tries to put you with members of your own faction would be nice, even if it was optional. The faction conflict is the entire premise of For Honor, but it has literally zero impact on moment-to-moment gameplay.

Right now the "faction war" is a joke. Easily the laziest, most disappointing part of this game. Here's to hoping it'll get some love in year 2. Personally I'd like to see a faction-based mode that matches you with fellow knights/vikings/samurai, and locks to those heroes, but also gives you a lot more war assets.

Literally anything that expands the lore at this point would be an infinite increase over what we've been getting.

The Knight faction are 40K lite, split between the old guard and the warmongers.
Vikings are vikings: loud noise making savages.
The Samurai get bullied by the Knights and Vikings, but ultimately have the most powerful warrior, because weeb power.

    For Honor in three lines.

    Beyond that...

Beyond teaming up with characters from the same faction it should be nice that your choice make an impact on the side you are playing attacker/defender. If you are a samurai and the map is from your faction then you should be in defending team. I guess you should first choose your character then the matchmaking would be done with the other players (trying to put you among characters from your faction) and finally when the map is selected that will define if you will defend or attack.

I second this, and I agree with what Orisoll said.

@OoKaMi_79 I could see this better if 4v4s take place on different areas of the world map based on which faction you belong to; if you're Samurai, you'll be fighting as attacker on the Viking front much less than as Defender on the Samurai front, for instance. And when Defender Samurai win Dominion as Defenders like maybe 300 times, it will impact the Faction War and will repel Vikings and Knights from those particular areas where those 300 matches took place.

If you're Viking, you'll be fighting as Attacker on both Knight and Samurai fronts more often. And if you're Knight, it's pretty much an equal draw between being Attacker or Defender, on any front. Things like that.

Maybe base the campaigns of the ongoing season on that, and have the players ultimately control how territories change and who gains the most territories, through mostly Dominion (but other modes affect this too, although at a much lower rate).

That would be neat in my opinion, and an actual Faction War. Of course with rewards and all that, at the end of each campaign.

I like this idea. It feels dumb to go into an online match in the faction war and get paired up with OUR ENEMIES.

It always seems I get paired up with the samurai for some reason.

I'm sure people change factions with each new war. I was going to, but never did. Stayed Samurai. Most of the other Samurai I play with are Rep 4+ with Knight or Viking characters. I rarely see any Samurai mains other than myself. I don't even see any Shugoki players. I've usually the highest Rep level of any Samurai that I do encounter, except the one time I saw a Rep 25 Kensei.
