The buff should not count down while you are not playing!
We shouldn't have to be put on a clock, and pretty much forced to play to get the most out of a bonus.
I'm sure you guys have ways of tracking our playtime, put something there that will turn on and off the status once we are offline from the game.

This would make buying champion status worthwhile.
