Whats the best gun to get?

Im new to wildlands and I'm really enjoying this game so far. What is the best gun to get for all round use, stealth, short/medium range with a good damage? I got the ACR and M4A1 which I heard are good assault rifles and I also have the MSR sniper which apparently is the best sniper and can one shot a helicopter.

Also is this game bit like the division as you level up, your weapons become more powerful, because on youtube others who have the MSR has the damage stat nearly at the max but I'm only level 12 and my damage is just over a quarter of the way?

    Thanks

The best guns to get, are the ones that works best for YOURSELF. In PvE, there isn't a huge difference between many of the guns.

The videos on YouTube, you could be looking at old videos where the UI showed the stats use to be much higher, the UI got changed for when Tier 1 Mode was released, to leave room in the UI for you to upgrade your weapons (when Tier 1 is activated). Tier 1 Mode unlocks when you hit level 30.

You will find a lot of opinions, we had also a discussion here ->http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...-here-are-mine

But as Twigs wrote its completely up to you. The weapon doesn't make you better or worse

In their Base- and Non-Tier-Version all Weapons are well balanced, so as Biomag and Twigs said, try them, customize them, you have the Freedom of choice there.

.....and that's the key IMO because that balance gets thrown out the window in Tier mode. .....especially once enemy AI are engaged.

In Tier mode, I had good luck with the M4 but then switched to the ACR as my main weapon. I use the desert HTI nearly 80% of the time given its relatively consistent power and stopping ability but may switch to the Mk17 (or another sniper rifle) if playing co-op with others who have the HTI equipped.

In the core game, the M4 and Mk14 were my "go to" loadout. ....the Mk14 was essentially rendered useless IMO within the Tier system.

Glad you asked. See this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...ot-I-tell-them

My load out is Tar21 with underbarrel grenade launcher, 50 round mag, suppressor, 3dot laser, PKAS sight, and all settings start out quiet and this gun takes out the truckloads that come in instaneously with the GL.
Once it goes sideways (and it always does), it get my other main gun the MK48 , 200 round mag, shift short angled grip- under barrel, v2 compensator, panoramic sight and it is much deadlier than any assault rifle or sub gun, it does it all, long range sniper (out to 350 meters easy), takes out helo's in less time than it takes to reload the HT1 or even just to get sights on with the HT1, with the 200 round mag it never runs out of bullets for those 3 round burst (triggered carefully leaving the option open to take out a dozen guys in the same area by just spraying them, never gets out of control with bullet climb, stays on target even on full auto, its a beast. On rare occassions if a good upslope spot if found 3-400 m out, i'll switch to an MSR sniper (10 round mag, suppressor if close, T5xi scope) and take out a bunch of guys before getting closer. Oh,ya....it takes 2 unsuppressed shots to take out a chopper with the MSR, i can do it faster with the mk48.
If playing without the HUD up and no enemy marking then the sighting is not good enough to see well at 300+ meters especially at night (for me) although infrared helps alot, but if the enemies have little orange or purple markers over them, they are history at any range.

is all personal taste really, for me i was using the ACR for the longest time before i got Bad News, and as my secondary i was using the HTI before i got the Desert Tech HTI and as my sidearm i have been using the P12.

So, just pick which ever weapon you like to use most or one that best suits your play style.

The weapons in the main game, don't 'level up' - that's only in the Tier 1 mode that gets unlocked once you've reached Level 30. In the main game you can modify the attributes (damage, handling, noise reduction, etc.) by adding or changing the weapon attachments such as the magazine size, barrel length, scope, suppressor, etc.

As others have mentioned, it's really all about personal preference. Try different weapons and see what works for your style. A few personal favorites for me ...

    ASSAULT RIFLES
    Mk17 and M4A1

    SNIPER RIFLES
    Mk14 and SR25

SMGs (for close quarters and building interiors)
    PSG and SR-635

    Hope you enjoy GRW.

Great suggestions all around! Personally, the ACR has carried me a good bit thus far, sporting both commendable damage and handling. The accuracy could leave a bit to be desired for some I suppose, though I haven't found it to be very probabilistic.

If you're interested in a more in-depth look regarding the various stats for each weapon, Qwurdi is putting together a spreadsheet detailing these. While unofficial, it nonetheless features some excellent info and is definitely worth checking out.
