Hello Ghosts!
We are continuously providing our dev team with feedback from you, the community. In the spirit of this, Benoit Martinez, our Lead Artist and Technical Art Director, wants to hear from you!
In the comments below, please share with us your favorite in game environments and why they are your favorite. Maybe you love the tranquil sights of the salt flats, maybe you prefer the lush greenery of the jungle, or maybe you spend your time taking in the breathtaking mountain views. No matter where you prefer to spend your time in Bolivia, let us know your favorite area and what about it draws you there.
Feel free to include screenshots and/or GIFs!
Thank you all so much for your time and consideration on this,
The Ghost Recon Wildlands Community Team
The environment is incredible, all the regions are beautiful, you've made a master piece of an open world.
Just fix the bugs, and give the players the stuff we all unanimously ask for. (Adding DLC weapons to main game, AI squad customization, accurate camo colors and make them match, heli flares, etc, etc, etc....)
EDIT: Here is an IMGUR album of some shots I've taken. All images are taken with normal screenshot, I use an R9 380 4gb card, so no ANSEL. The graphics are set to "Very high" preset with HBAO+ and all settings "On". Sharpness set to 35% in Video settings, game is being run at 1.00 resolution scale @1920x1080

Even tho the lack of 'thickness' of the jungles, I like the jungles the most with how the sunlight sneaks in certain spots, and the terrain. Plus I am a sucker for waterfalls, joys of living by the Rocky Mountains. Next would be the snow covered mountains, be cooler if blizzards came rolling in now and than.

The Jungles for me, for that Island Thunder feel. Anywhere with foliage to hide in and elevations in the landscape that enable you to move around in. When it's raining or misty as well, it is incredible.
If I could have one thing though it would be the snow areas feeling like really snowy areas! Mountain Base on GR2 had snowflakes falling and snow on trees and all your squad were wearing cold weather gear. In Wildlands the snowy areas don't feel like they are that cold, with your AI team in the same T-shirts, civilians dressed the same and the landscape not really feeling "snowy". Sometimes the visibility should be so poor due to snowfalls that it provides cover, with wind noise to add to that feeling. I haven't been to Bolivia so I realise that may not be faithful to how it is there, but it would be a great addition to this game.
For me, there is no easy answer here. I love the diversity and contrast between the biomes. Just moving from one area to another and getting different sights, sounds, and feel is absolutely wonderful.
Highlights:
- the salt plane of Koani. Vast, endless flat salt as far as the eye can see.
- the snow covered highlands of Inca Camina.
- the plateau of Montuyoc. Immense sense of scale. Wonderful lake with a flamboyance :-) of flamingoes.
- the jungles of Villa Verde and Espiritu Santo.
- the lush tropical resort vibe in Agua Verde.
- the forests in the south-east, even the unsettling burned forest.
- the swamps.
My opinion is: what ever you do, do not restrict yourself to just a handful of 'popular' biomes. The diversity, the change of scenery, makes it more interesting!
Definitely prefer the areas with a lot elevation change and a lot of trees/vegetation. The mist hanging on the horizon with the hillsides in the distance are fantastic along with the ambient sounds such as birds, insects, wind through trees, etc. really help immerse the player into the setting. Most often I would hike my team to the mission objectives just to enjoy the GRW environments and surroundings.
Really rewarding to pull off a stealth mission and use the scenery to clear an enemy outpost completely unnoticed. Great stuff.
