So, Ive played Xbox siege since the day it came out and since then my ranked seasons have gone plat diamond 3x and plat for this season about to end. I made the switch a little more than 2 weeks ago but one major difference I have noticed on pc is that its so much easier in terms of aiming and snapping on a target. Ive stood by the controller and thumb stick for my whole life and still do for most games but for this game it only makes sense that a keyboard and mouse is a much better device to use. The lean without ads is so much better since you can peek corners without committing or losing sight of an enemy who isnt in your acog. And the mouse is so much more precise. At long ranges, you can fine tune your aim where on console unless your sensitivity is extremely low you cant really do that without jerking the sight around a million times or trying to physically move to the left or right and out of position. And at short ranges it helps to make quick movements on someones head that might be flanking you. The only issue is the inputs are a bit hard like push to talk is u and to use your gadgets you need to press things like 4 5 or 6, and even melee is v which is hard to hit in the heat of the moment. But a gaming mouse with a key pad can fix that.
One thing that I have found though is that its a lot easier to be toxic on pc then console since you have most people with mics and an all chat. Now Id still have to say this isnt the most toxic game Ive come across yet. If you want that just go play league of legends, they will cut your head off for the simplest mistakes. Now the game has a mute button but you can only mute your teammates in voice chat. Something like a text chat mute on individual teammates and enemies would be very helpful. Im pretty sure the only thing available right now is the turn the chat off entirely which isnt really helpful since you cant read what your other teammates are calling out then. And a mute for the enemy would be nice so you dont have to hear all the boasting and sore winners at the end of every round. With this said though it doesnt happen often but for the times it does it can be very frustrating and a mute button would be very helpful imo.
The next thing I want to talk about is ranked. I have yet to play a ranked game on pc even though Im level 37 I think. My brother just got the game too and while he played his placement games he dropped at least 5 kills in all his placement matches and lost all of them and was ranked copper 3. I know this can happen your first season as it happened to me on console but I didnt understand the ranked system at the time and somehow went from bronze 3 all the way up to plat 2 by the end of the season mainly because I had time to. With the people Im being matched with in casual I just feel like its not a good idea especial with how close to the end of the season it is to try and get ranked. First impressions is everything in this game especially when your doing bad for one game and your teammates see you have a bad ranked win loss or kd, they will tear into you for that. And for me to start now and get teammates like I have Ill most likely have a terrible win loss by the end of the placements with no chance to change that until next season. So Im going to hold off until at least maybe lvl 60 or so and see how its going in casual. The main reason I dont want to do ranked right now is I have no one to do it with. With the game not having a base point for me yet it will match me with lower ranked people especially at lvl 37 and most likely end up in bronze again. If I had at least one friend with me I wouldnt mind at all going into ranked. So for you guys making the switch if you have friends willing to play ranked with you Id say go for it or wait till your higher rank to solo queue.
And finally, I want to touch a little on losing everything. On console, I have a 1.8 ranked win loss and a 1.4 ranked kd and loosing that isnt as big a deal as losing all the skins Ive gathered over the past year of the game. After making the switch for those that dont know you can link your account with Ubisoft to see both your pc stats and console stats separately but you dont carry and of the skins with you. I have all the elite skins, most of the gold set skins, the first pro league weapon skin, and countless bundles like the diamond skin and toy skins along with every season specific weapon skin bundle. Moving to pc or vice versa will make you lose all of that and theres no way to transfer it. You have to rebuy the season pass and unlock all the operators again. I had the seasons passes on console so I wasnt going to start trying to unlock them now. I ended up buying the collector edition for all the dlc operators. But heres my final thoughts on the game.
Its an awesome game to play with friends and family or even alone most of the time. You will run into the typical toxic player up on their high horse but you just need to ignore them and enjoy the game. Right now it had many glitches but this was nothing new to me since I have played on console. The hit box is still broken and hackers/ ping abusers and running wild but it will get fixed eventually. I had a blast on console for the past year of this game and Im not going to stop playing it there any time soon since most of my friends are still on it but pc siege will defiantly be my main platform for the game now. I dont regret losing everything for better graphics and much better aim. But with that said guys I love the game no matter how frustrating it can get and I hope this has helped some of you who are thinking about switching to pc get some info from someone who has. Sorry for such a long post and for those of you who stuck through it thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day of siege.
