XP difference in PVP vs. PVAI

So let me start off by saying I enjoy your game and I understand how with code one change here can cause a whole cascade of unattended glitches. That is not what I want to talk about. I am a dad and husband and it is much easier for me to play PVAI w/o matchmaking then PVP because I can still pause the match (depending on the mode) if I need to. Now I was initially thinking another boost in xp gain would be nice but then I realized that, honestly the xp gain is fine in PVP. I have two questions then: What was the design philosophy behind PVAI (PVE?) xp gain been less than PVP xp gain? I understand the the goal of this game was to create a unique PVP fighting e-sport, but when you give players less experience for playing PVAI it feels like you are forcing players to play PVP. Which leads me to my last question would it be possible for you to just get rid of the difference in xp gain between PVP and PVAI?

    Thank you.

I can certainly bring it up to the team for consideration. We are aware that some players prefer PvAI for multiple reasons, and don't want to make your time feel less well spent than players who choose PvP. But we also do want rewards to reflect the different experiences you have in different matches. And while, our bots are quite good, but it's just not the same as playing with other players.

    lvl3 bots are mean AF.

Would be nice to see them fall for feints.

This is an issue I've brought up multiple times myself. The difference in experience gain when playing gain shouldn't be so substantial. I can understand a difference between playing PVP and PVE, but what I'm lost on is why the experience is cut in HALF for playing PVE with matchmaking turned off vs. PVE with matchmaking turned on. You'd think that you should get MORE experience for playing against the AI with AI allies as opposed to player allies, because the AI they supply you with for team mates are useless pieces of garbage that force you to do ALL of the work yourself, especially when you're skilled enough for the game to populate your entire opponent team exclusively with level 3 bots. There shoudn't be any experience difference on the PVE side when playing matchmaking on/off except for the bonus experience you get for other players with champion status. That's a given, if you're playing alone then you dont have anyone to boost your exp with their champion status, but the BASE experience gain without bonus consideration should be equivalent.

That is a good point @BallZ I am wondering the same thing. I switched to PVE w/o matchmaking because I can pause if my daughter needs me or to use the bathroom or do a quick chore. Why should the matchmaking be so much ch less than regular PVE? I would actually be the okay with some difference but not half. Is it really half?

Oh yes it's really half. Play any PVE match with matchmaking turned on and pay close attention to the base experience amount before it recalcs and includes bonus experience for performance and champion status. Then play the same type of match in PVE with matchmaking turned off and watch that base amount. It's definitely half.

Also, be VERY careful when pausing the game. Apparently since they included those new match leaving penalties you can now be booted from a completely solo match for being idle too long with the game paused. I was kicked out of a PVE matchmaking off elimination match I was in the 5th round on because I paused the game and went to answer the door to get my pizza. Came back to a black error message that I'd been kicked for being idle too long.
