Centurion, is he working as intended?

    Hi,

After a 5-week break my and my friends returned to the game attracted with the "big" announcement. We entered a 1v1v1 Custom Match (2v2 without a bot) and played a few matches with different heroes. Last time we checked the Centurion was very strong but we all thought that by now he would have been brought on par with other classes. As each of us was in turn watching the other two fight we drew a few conclusions about the Centurion. Could anyone explain why the following take place:

    - the kick is barely "dodgable": it can be dodged but it seems to be following the enemy as a guided missile
    - the kick has incredible range: the Centurion seems to be forever flying through the air with his foot up front
    - the sword has too much range: it is shorter than Orochi's katana and yet can hit further away
    - the stamina burning skills make no sense: a 100-kg foot soldier wearing a plate armor and helmet (not mentioning the rest of his gear) is performing fast combos throwing and thrusting all along nicely only to spend half of his stamina pool while he depletes his enemy off of it in seconds
    - the guided jump/stab is... guided: there is no escape, he will find you everywhere...

I would like to know if you agree with any of the above. I personally think that the illogical (stamina) and supernatural (gliding/teleporting to target) moves should be disabled or tuned down. If I'm too slow to dodge or let him too close - fine, let him stab or kick me but looking at this character as he blindly charges on and on stealing all the stamina from his opponent and not loosing his own, sliding on ice and closing distances no matter how far his enemy is makes me feel frustrated.

I'm hoping to get some polite answers too..
    Thanks!

Although I totally agree that Centurion is still on the stronger side of characters (at least in anything besides a 1v1) he's still not one of the strongest characters in general.

He has fast heavies, fast lights, incredible amounts of guaranteed damage off most guard breaks, and several methods of draining his opponent's stamina in a heartbeat. Add onto that his wtf zone attack that immediately does the same damage as a heavy and can kill any character at their base regenerative health, and you get a character that got a lot of love, just like warlord did at the beginning of the game. His entire purpose as a character is meant to be an aggressor, and he does really well at it. Most characters cannot heavy>feint>guard break him because his heavies are so fast.

Plus he can charge his heavies to change the timing on it however he wants, which makes parrying a heavy pretty much worthless because you will most likely fail unless you have incredible reflexes, or get guard broken for trying.

I personally think that his kicks and punches need to drain less stamina and his zone attack needs to not be able to execute someone at their low health threshold (i.e. reduce the damage on the first hit, which currently does 27 I believe, equal to most heavies), on top of this, his fully charged punch should not knock his opponent to the ground, but guarantee some damage in a different way.

The problem with Centurion in 4v4 is that he has the ability to both pin his opponents and knock them to the ground. This combo means that there's a lot of time where his opponent cannot guard or move because they're being punched, pinned, or kicked, leaving his allies more than enough time to deal enough damage to kill them before they can even do anything. It's not fun to play against whatsoever, and makes me focus down a centurion in a teamfight instantly just to not have to worry about him. He's a menace, and once the changes for being OOS come through, he'll be even worse unless they reduce his stamina draining numbers.

I'm not a Centurion hating fanboy, I just recognize that his fully charged punch>leaping strike needs to be reworked in some way that doesn't make his opponent vulnerable and unable to guard for such a long time, but still deals the same damage if the devs feel that is vital to his kit.

What do you mean in besides 1v1. Are you high? Again with his long repetitive stun attacks and knockdown attacks he keeps you f****** docile the whole round off of one f****** combo and in the instance of berserker if I do one hit or I get a hit in or I block his response time is f****** ridiculous.

His chains are a f****** joke it takes no skill just hit the buttons in a mild fast pattern and you're good.

When he's drained of stamina he still hits f****** fast. And again I retort when playing against him all my skill all the deflecting none of that s*** matters because all he has to do is get one combo in and if I've actually hit him and drain some of my stamina the rounds f****** done. Me Landing a few blows doesn't mean anything the trade-off on losing some of my stamina actually hurt me because now when he does his ****y combo I'm f****** toast I'm in the white flashing stamina zone now and I'm going to the ground a lot quicker than before then the crown at off the jumping stabbed and of round it's the same s*** over and over.

Now lawbringer obviously stands a chance that's because of his f****** shove but then again that's part of the problem. That's why he stands a chance because the same cancer that makes Centurion a f****** problem is the very thing that lawbringer has with the stun abuse and the shove.

Every other character I've played has had limits. I'm trying to play warlord now but see I don't play I'm like a ****. It would be fine with me if head but got f****** removed altogether. Same for trading the distance on the shield Bash or maybe just having the shield bash part of a certain attack and just having a standard guard break.

But then again I really want to play the f****** game I don't want to spend to win I'm not a glory whor ror.

Until the point now I wish there just wasn't a winning at all. Then people might just f****** play to play.

I'm really trying my best to stick it out to season 3 which is just a few days but I am really losing interest and fast and considering I played every day for over 3 months sometimes for hours at a time sometimes all f****** day 12 hours or more When I'm off work.

It would be in the developers best interest to straighten this **** up. We need to start sorting out the trash from the treasure in this game as well as the trash people from the loyal people.

And no I'm not talking about extremes of in elimination if someone runs off to try another tactic to win I'm talking about people that literally cheese the s*** out of one move or coordinatedly work together to s*** on people by using spams such as carries she'll bashes over Ledges etc etc

I like Ledges though don't get me wrong if you fight your opponent to the ledge you hit them and they fall off or you can push them to it. that's f****** fine in my book. you need to have better control over the fight to where you don't get put in that situation

The problem is is we have characters that have move sets that enable them to do that one f****** function.

Again it's becoming to where it's not fun anymore it's becoming something close to Street Fighter I guess. Not anything of skill length and experience. The most fun I have is actually with a character or a player that's on par with me and Air Battle will drag out to be longer. You end up really getting into the game so much so that your heart starts to speed up and I mean that's what it's all about. Immersion.

At the very least stun times should be shortened to where they could only get a light in and they would have to also sacrifice a fair amount of their stamina to wear it would prevent them from f****** being able to abuse the move or have a cool down. If the cool-down period option is taken then no character should have no more than one stun move.

Again like I said the game has gotten so complicated with these moves here lately that it's f****** itself over. You can simplify the game and still have a complex moveset that is not abusable.

    It's doable.

This is because they're waiting to balance individual characters such as centurion until after they have everything for the defense meta changed. This way, they can balance him around the new mechanics and not be forced to change him later. However, they don't have a specific set of notes for exactly what they're doing for that patch or when it will be coming.

Basically, don't expect them to mention anything about changing him until some time into season 3 where they can get more data.

Sorry dude, the developers aren't going to balance their characters around you. Focus inward on improving yourself against the characters you struggle against and maybe you'll start to enjoy the game more. The moves you believe should be removed from the game (Headbutt, shove, punch, shield bash, shoulder bash, etc.) are what make those characters unique. Not a single one of them is what makes a class overpowered. Warden shoulder bash is extremely punishable now that it's dangerous to use but rewarding if it lands. Conquerer shield bash is a bit safer, but the reward is smaller. Lawbringer shove confirms ZERO damage, as you can dodge the light attacks or block the heavies or counter the guard break.

Sounds to me that you're just unwilling to accept that you need to improve your skills and you're coming to the forums to make the game suit you, rather than suiting yourself to fit the game. For the sake of everyone else, please silence yourself on these forums until you learn how to constructively give feedback. The excessive use of swearing is also not helping.
