Why are so many players complaining about items that they don't even have to use? So what if they are adding "fun" unique items to the store or as rewards. If this game forced me to be 100% tactical, all stealth, no messing around and just having fun, I wouldn't have bought it. The open world and freedom to play however I want is a major selling point for me when it comes to games. You don't have to buy or use the fun, untactical items. But to come out and say this game is a "disgrace" to the GR title is just wrong. I'm all for them adding more military themed items, but don't try to downplay how good of a game this is when they want to add other things as well. If they make the next GR not open world, no freedom to choose your playstyle, only full stealth items/customization, only gameplay at night, no ability to drive vehicles, store items that have 1 theme, then I certainly won't even think about buying it. Isn't it pretty nice to have the freedom to choose our style with Wildlands? Don't give the game a hard time just because they want to add different things beyond ALL STEALTH AND TACTICAL ONLY.
...threads like these only serve to propagate more of the same responses you're trying to stop. You're not going to change anyone's mind by taking this tack.
Personally, I don't care what radical colors, clothings, etc. they offer. I will never buy it (my friends and I are more interested in the core gameplay and theme), but if that makes other people feel good, so be it.
No game has ever been a master of the jack of all trades, Lots have tried and all have failed. Wildlands is no different.Originally Posted by ThugMoney01 Go to original post
For me the biggest problem is game design and mechanics. The respawning AI, awful intelligence AI or the "god vision" AI severely stops me from really liking it. Also those vehicles physics are abysmal if you cannot get vehicles handling well dont make it a major part of the game.
I mean c'mon, Then you have things that wire fences that if you stick a grenade down remain undestructible. Just way to many issues to like it!
I dont think you have to worry about the next game not being open world as it's clear sales wise that these days open world comes way before gameplay and gamers will lap up anything that slightly reminds them of GTA.
He has a point, though. I get the dissatisfaction with Narco Road and desire for more actual military gear for customization, but some people here act as if UbiSoft is putting a gun to their head and forcing them to buy all the wacky stuff. And if one is among those that bought the season pass without waiting to find out what was actually in it ... they only have themselves to blame.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
I think for the bulk of the ghost recon population its simply because this game doesn't implore the old school game and everything many of us loved about ghost recon going back to the first game. The fact is the steam numbers dont lie, going from 45k players the first month to 15k players the second month to the current 3k average now and based on those number this short after release i wouldn't call it a success, would you? So with that in mind it must mean that the haters or those who dont like the game must be right because if we were wrong the game would have at least 250k or more average players but lets wait and see how many buy the game or come back after multiplayer is released but based on the current information out there i dont see that happening.
I'd call it a success, Lokiey.

It continues to be the best selling game of the year and that is without its PvP mode included yet. Of course the jury is out on whether the delay will be too long and momentum is lost, whether people will like it when it comes out etc etc. The community has grown by 60% and the table at the bottom shows the the relative scale of the PC community in that.
Yeah some don't like it that at 80 mph a family saloon can't take a 45 deg bend without sliding off the road, and that if you play carelessly the AI will punish you etc etc, but every game can always improve. There is a list I'd like to see changed, the friendly AI the top of that list, but that is for each of us to decide on our own as for each of us the experience is our own perception. What sets the "haters" apart from the huge majority that either like the game or just don't and so leave it or don't buy it, is that they think it's a Ubisoft failure rather than just their preferences not being adequately met. They act is if they are entitled to have the game industry produce exactly what they want, that they alone are entitled to define what is and isn't worthy and that the reason they don't like the game is solely the fault of the lizard people.
It is not wrong to dislike Wildlands, but the "haters" aren't secure in that. What defines them is that they can't stand that others do like it; that is why they attack Ubisoft, attack those that do like the game and blow every shortcoming up into a huge issue that they can then keep feeding off (and I know I'm guilty of helping them in that).
@flawedgenius, just for info so you don't misinterpret me here, I see you as a harsh critic not a hater.
It's a huge success money wise for Ubi, It's not a success for most Ghost Recon fans.Originally Posted by DMF-Lokiey Go to original post

If you are trying to make a Game about the thrills and spill of Bolivia while driving down a cliff and getting out of the car without a scratch or getting to the top of a mountain and seeing the beautiful world... Aces!!!
But on the other hand, if what you were trying to sell was a semi mil sim game shooter based on the GR (as it was said by the hype machine)... then, the corners that you cut were full of meat and not just pieces of bones.
Hating to hate is one thing, wanting a mature-ish game instead of the make-believe 8 year old with the AI is another... but most people are to close to it to see it from the outside in.
Saying Haters gonna hate is like saying fanbois will lap up anything UBI throws at them.
Looking at those Stats... I would like to see real numbers of people who actually purchased the game vs how many games (physical or digital) are still waiting patiently to be picked up on the stores but they are being counted as sold.![]()
Wildlands was a massive disappointment for me as a long time franchise fan. From a solo perspective this game is sorely lacking in nearly every area, and the game itself didn't turn out the way that it was advertised before launch. I was led to believe the game would have a "systemic world" (direct quote from Ubi employees) that would react organically based upon player choices and actions. I was led to believe by trailers like the "White Hat" reveal trailer that we would have total and complete autonomy to take down cartel locations/supplies/officers however we wanted. What we ended up getting was a game that had missions where it flat out told you exactly what you had to do and punished you if you deviated from its demands. I have other beefs as well ranging from the simplistic/useless squad commands, repetitive and derivative gameplay elements, and a severe lack of military authenticity/realism ranging from improperly modeled gear/weapons to god awful bullet ballistics.
Despite my disappointment...Wildlands is just average to me. The biggest reason this game annoys me was that the developers came really, really, really close to making something special but messed it up with many incredibly questionable design choices. It's not hate, just disappointment.
