I really want talk about the "new" cover system for Ghost Recon Wildlands. This system was a nice try, but we NEED the option to either use this current cover system, or the cover system from "The Division", or the very popular "Ghost Recon Future Soldier". The reasons why we NEED this option is because of how effective the past cover system would be and more fluid it would be as well, allowing you to move fast and low from one position to the next. In fact it is so effective, even the Rebels or Santa Blanca use this cover system, but our players can not, hindering our abilities that we NEED for Tier 1 mode AND PVP. I know you guys can do it because Tom Clancy games has always had this system already and you guys just implemented pretty good helicopter controls, with the ability to switch them. Thanx in advance!

Having the Future soldier cover system in this game would be insanely overpowered.
The AI use it because they are AI and there's really no other way to do it.
That's simply not true. I was a huge fan of the original game, GR-Island Thunder, and the GRAW 1&2 multiplayer co-op, and none of those had a cover system. If they did, I definitely wouldn't have played them. There is nothing more annoying than having to hit a button or whatever to take cover.Originally Posted by OJeremySimsO Go to original post
Understandable but in this situation we have many well established examples of working cover systems, Wildlands soft cover works if you play the game always first person aim and don't ever blind fire. I'm a SOCOM vet and grew up playing those style games so I often rely on the third person firing mechanics which work horribly with the soft cover in game, often blind firing into the cover I'm trying to peak. Things that wouldn't ever happen if we had Ghost Recon Future Soldier, or The Divisions cover system (which for all intensive purposes are near identical in how they function and are used)Originally Posted by SERPENT 1333 Go to original post
Same here, exactly. The soft cover works, but it has it's bugs sometimes and your player doesn't really "hug" the cover depending on what he is behind which is a problem when all we needed was an "A" button option and he'd do exactly that, "hug" the cover to avoid being seen. Ima call it "hard cover" lol. This IS a stealth driven game right? I don't see why we can't at least have an option for people like Serpent AND people like me to use stealth to the BEST of OUR ability. Think about it, there's Arcade to Extreme Difficulty for a vast amount of players who want a different play style, there's classic and new helicopter controls for players who like different ways of flying, there's different types of drones for certain players who use different roles. Why can't it be a hard cover, soft cover option? For players who want him to hug the wall, and hold the A button to stay crouched from place to place, and for others that don't?
Even if the game only had a hard cover game mechanic players would still be able to crouch behind a wall "soft cover" without being seen. The only difference is a little more effort on the players part to angle himself accordingly, but "hard cover" can not be done without the right animations and the A button option for our players who'd rather "hug" the wall, than "hover" behind one.
There are lots of things that need to be fixed in this game, so the last thing they should do is divert attention from those problems just to add a cover system that isn't even remotely needed. Using cover is easy in this game. Besides, most GR players I've played with hate cover systems, and that's one reason why we play GRW, and why we played GRAW. Thankfully it's not going to happen in this game.
It is what it is, we're 2 different people, with 2 different opinions oh well. Honestly, Ubisoft is very slow when it comes to responding to the community anyway, they would probably take a while just to even respond to this lol, let alone put it in the game. I'm sure they're not gonna listen, but it worth taking a shot and speaking up amongst me and many others I've public matchmaked with and my friends people etc. Doesn't really matter if some disagree to me as long as Ubisoft at least saw our request for the long run maybe.
Fact is not all games play the same. Sorry to break it to you, but this is Ghost Recon Wildlands. Not Rainbow Six Vegas or Call of Doody or Socom or any other game.Originally Posted by MrFuddyDuddy Go to original post
The soft cover system works perfectly when you're playing Ghost Recon Wildlands. Maybe the cover system doesn't work well when trying to third person blind fire because you aren't supposed to be doing that?
