Some abilities should sensibly require running starts, both because it would make them appear less ridiculous and it would balance them more. It isn't many... Shinobi's slide should require more of a running start than it does, raider's stampede charge, these types of moves. It just feels very odd for a raider running away to turn around, take one step, and suddenly be stampeding, or for a Shinobi to take one or two steps toward you then slide 10 yards and knock you down.
It isn't really a big deal as it is, but what I'm saying is that these types of moves should require that the player have some more momentum before they can use it. If you're going to stampede or slide, it seems sensible that the player should need to have several steps in to gain the momentum needed to blast through someone or slide several yards under them. I actually like these moves, I just think that they're too flexible right now. When 1.09 came out yesterday I played warlord all day, and noticed that if I was being chased onto a bridge, I could turn and use warlord's crashing charge suddenly. It just seems odd that a person could do a 180, or even start from a halt, and then build up the momentum to slam through people like a juggernaut after taking only one or two steps. I don't demand realism, but as an example of what I mean, in reality for me to build up full speed and get maximum momentum so that I could ram someone back, I'd need at least 5 or 6 steps to get that kind of speed. I couldn't possibly take one or two steps and suddenly be going max speed to bash through someone.Originally Posted by UbiNoty Go to original post
I think he means input of the attack in question, that the user be in a "run" state for more than x amount of time before being able to execute the manuever.Originally Posted by UbiNoty Go to original post
