After playing against him so many times you kinda get used to it. His uppercuts are very telegraphed and leaves him open for a guardbreak, if dodged, same goes for his kick and once you learn the timing of his unblockable stabs and parry it, he's nothing. Gotta learn not to panic and play calmly, Centurions are all about intimidation they expect you to be afraid and whiff your parries on their strikes hence why they arent afraid of pulling out that unblockable stab when they land a hit or 2.

this. But maybe have you thought those cents put more hours into learning the game that you did ? maybe its that and not the character.

kweassa1, for the love of god shut the F up. Every single time someone has a complaint or question about centurion you have a response. Like literally almost every single time. We get it you love the centurion. I can see you right now wearing a centurion t-shirt, holding "free centurion sign" in one hand and plastic gladius in the other. You are not a hero dude. I am sure that they devs do not need a centurion PR rep. It is clear you hold them very dear to your heart...

Go look up the fhtracker or something and see how many times I've ever used the cent in an actual combat against other people in PvP. Then tell me if I "love" the centurion.

So how DO you beat him? By whining about them until the devs nerf it to the ground so anyone can beat them without even knowing what his traits and skills are?

I actually provided the BEST ANSWER TO THE QUESTION, did I not?

Nobushi first "main", then decided to try out Raiders, and Shugoki on the side.

Were you as passionate about it? If the centurion was a pop singer you would be his/her stalker. While i am sure we appreciate your passion about something you are obviously crazy about, you think there is any way you could use some new material in your fight against the evil that is known as other peoples opinions?

What "opinions"? The stupid and uneducated rabble coming from lazy arse idiots that don't have a concept of "practice"? Kinda unfortunately to them, fighting games isn't a democracy. You don't get to chant "OP" and it suddenly makes them "OP". Usually what proves "OP" is actual results in combat.

- How many major tournaments did cent players win?
- How many major competitive players moved over to the cent?
- How many major competitive players rank the cent as an "OP" class?

Be sure to let me know when that number rises above "0". But for now, for about 2.5 months since their first release, it's still "0" on all three of the above questions.


Let's make it very clear and blunt.

Cent-whiners are scrubs.

The cent is a classic "scrub-killer" class in every way. Consider it a "test of baseline skill level". When someone feels they're not too threatened by a centurion in 1v1 terms, and would be about 50:50 in wins/losses -- nothing too special -- that's when that someone can consider himself out of the green and at least have basic levels of competency.

When you have problems with cents -- problems enough to profusely whine 24/7 and rant about it on the forums -- face it. You're a scrub. Maybe you do better against other classes -- which simply means you're a relative scrub against certain classes.

Whichever way you put it, people lose to the cent for three main reasons:

(1) they're lazy, and they don't know for shi* what the cent can do
(2) since they don't know shi*, they have no idea what hit them, so they also don't know what to look out for
(3) despite their total shi* level incompetency, stupid pride and ego puts them into denial,

You'll notice both facts I've exactly pointed out in the initial post. The third one, I'm pointing out now.


So I'll give you a definitive answer to how you can beat a cent.

The first step?

Acknowledge and admit you're a scrub, and start studying what moves the cent can do.

And lets not just make it witty one-liner this time.

For start, you are making whole range of wrongfull assumptions, which can be be summed up as "everyone who complains about cent is just bad and unaware of how the character works".
While i agree that some of the complaints are just whiny and ignorant, but there has been some complaints that stem from people knowing exactly what they are talking about.
We both know cent isnt unstopable killing machine, but just the fact that you can adapt and beat them, does not mean the aspects of him that are largely out of line compared other characters cease to exist.
For example, once centurion unlocks his haymaker feat, he can deal 120 damage from single guardbreak, if he is near wall. With gearstats counted in it gets into 130 range which means he can delete 9 (possibly 10, not sure how shugo extra dmg taken when he loses his armor affect damage numbers) out of 14 characters in single guardbreak. And unless he ****s up or someone interferes the combo is inescapable. To put that into perspective, imagine fighting warlord, but every wall is a ledge instead. Can you still beat him? sure you can, but that doesnt mean he is fine and balanced compared to other characters.
Regardless of this specific example, out of the numerous complaints there are indeed some that are valid, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Its been already debated to death.

I realize its not perfect measurerement tool of someones skill, but it will do for our purposes.
Just quick look tells us that you are somewhere between bottom 1/4th and 1/3rd of players.
Which brings us to this:

I wonder if it could mean that at your garbage tier of play, you are simply too bad to recognize the apparent problems with the character

Lets face it, its much easier to seek validation through ****posting on forums and calling people names, than through actually getting good at the game.
Whether i think its because you are simply uncapable of seeing the problems, or you do see them and decided to act the way you do because it makes you feel good about yourself, both your actual gaming ability and your post history - which is made of 90% by "you scrubs just need to git gud" btw - is out there for everyone to see, so everyone can draw their own conclusion.

you said it yourself, you can fight other characters with fast reaction and knowledge of basic mechanics, but to defeat cent you need to know 100% of his moves.... so cent have advantage over every character in game I'd conclude. BTW Cents in 1v1 aren't so bad but anyone that fail to admit they are dostroying 4v4 modes is either cent player or idiot

As far as I can see, the OP had a question, someone responded reasonably and with good intentions (maybe the post wasn't super sugary sweet about it but it made valid attempt to inform/help).

WE hate cent for a reason, its fine in 1v1 but its gamebraking in 4v4 (more than 1 cent in team is like 99.999999% of win for this team). end of story
