To start this off: I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. I'm new to the Forums, but this seemed the most fitting.
I play on console, and I play Conqueror a lot. I love the hero so much. What I don't love, however, are Orochi. For some reason, the shield seems to be much slower than input, so I can almost NEVER block an Orochi's attacks, much less parry them. He can jump in, slice and dice my face, then jump out, all before I can block a single attack. I'd love to use my all-direction block, but that takes massive amounts of stamina, so I never use that for anything anyway.
How can I, as a conqueror who can't block or parry reliably, beat an Orochi? Is it possible?
I think you also need to learn how to bait out a certain attack off of your opponent. If you shield bash (which you should utilize no matter what as a conq) the orochi should most likely do a side-step attack. Well, if they do, try the following for example: Get out of lock, run at them, stop and block/parry the sidelight attack. They would expect you to do a running shield bash. If they just dodge, guardbreak. Mix things up change patterns and use your all block stance to fake out your attacks (as it cancels them). Then try to capitilize on the counter attempt of the orochi.
ah .. and of course use your full-block stance more if you have such troubles parry or even simple blocking.. that is basically for what it's for
also try to get your opponents near to a corner / wall. Once you get your shield bash combo going it is much harder for the roachy to get out of. Enjoy
