Fullscreen not working what so ever

I bought Far Cry 4 from the steam summer sale excited to play. The game itself is playable but only in windowed mode. I can change the setting from the GeForce experience program and from in game and from the XMP files but nothing willl work. When I change it from the XMP files and from Geforce it just boots up in windowed and wont change at all when changing it in the game settings but will ask if iwould like to keep the settings. when i leave the menu and go back in after changing it o fullscreen it will change back the setting to windowed mode. I have seen amny otyher solutoion like running in compatability mode but when i right click and go toproperties on the short cut and from the files in the directory no compatabilty tab shows up in the properties window or the right-click tab. when i first booted up the game after dowloading it was in windowed mode abut i aws able to change it to fullscreen and it worked untili got a notification from discord and then it went back to windowed. i have triend re installing, running with no programs in the back round(including discord) and it still wont work. PLZ help

TRY PRESSING ALT + ENTER YET ?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...nd-full-screen

When you run an application in a console window, you can press ALT+ENTER to switch the console into full screen view. The application running in the console window is displayed in full screen.

    ALSO
to run as an adminstrator ......or set a compatibility mode try this

right click on the games .exe file in the far cry 4 \ bin folder

    select properties

    select the compatibility tab

check the box that says run as Administrator

set it to run in a windows 7 compatibility mode

you can also run the windows 10 compatibility trouble shooter from that same window if ya have windows 10

you can also go to your User Documents folder usually found on drive C
open MY Games \ far cry 4 there will be a sub-folder of letters and numbers this = your Uplay ID

open that folder and delete the gamer profile .xml file

the game will generate a new one the next time ya launch it with the default setting for the game

you can also edit that file in Notepad

    make sure it says

    Fullscreen="1" Borderless="0"

if you want the game to run in Fullscreen mode
