Something that may help with the defensive meta

During prolonged combat, its not a stretch to imagine that weapons and armour would start to get word down. For this example, a Warlords wooden shield would start to crack and be worn down after been struck hard by the Lawbringers pole axe.

My idea is that there could be some sort of attrition system added to For Honor. After a certain amount of hits that are successfully blocked in a row, the shield would start to crack, and damage done to the Warlord would start to increase. This would encourage players to not turtle up out of fear for larger damage done to them, and the overall flow of combat would be more aggressive. In 1v1 modes, this would reset after death, and for 4v4 there could be a bar, not to dissimilar to revenge bar, that will fill up the more a player turtles, and then will shrink if the player returns to a captured objective this meter would go down, or for elimination and skirmish this could be a pickup "repair armour/weapons".

Interesting idea. I think that this would help with the turtles, but the power ups would encourage them.
this kinda plays into the idea of increased chip damage.
