    Military Simulation/Relaxed realism

We seek tactical realism using tactics employed by USSOCOM adapted to GRW. We use a SUT approach, realistic weapons, strategic team planning, limited HUD, and division of responsibility among a highly coordinated fireteam. This is our play style, not our lifestyle. We highly discourage any Milsim nonsense not related to tactics. No required meetings or formalities. It’s a game, and this is the way we like to play. If it sounds like you might, contact us at our Task Force Page or at

    WranglerPSN@gmail.com

Here are some of our rules we've agreed on for realistic immersion.

Task: Relaxed cooperative gaming in Ghost Recon Wildlands on the PS4 for realistic immersion, simulating American SOCOM small unit tactics.
Rules based on: (see section for details)
    1. Loadouts
    2. HUD limits
    3. Relaxed Chain of Command adherence
    4. Appearance
    5. Teamwork and playstyle
    6. Maturity and age

    1. Loadouts (for team efficiency and realism)
    • only 1 true primary weapon, no mid-mission switches
    • secondary weapons are unsuppressed pump shotguns or compact submachine guns
    • handguns are 9mm or .45 semi auto
    • no crazy gun paints (geographically relevant sprays, earth tones)
    • No bull pups, preferably realistic USSOCOM weapons (HK416, M4, R5, Mk17, SR25, Mk48 etc)
    • Fill the role you’re asked to! (Rifleman, Grenadier, Designated Marksman, etc!)
    • 1 M203 per fireteam

    2. HUD limits (encourage good communication and team-reliance)
We turn off the following: Teammate name, Detection clouds, enemy and rebel, Objective markers, Item and location Markers, Alert Markers, and Sync Shot.

    3. Relaxed Chain of Command
We will order the “chain of command” as follows. Admin>Teamleader>Member>Recruit

This is only to help communication and organization. The acting teamleader will facilitate the development of the approach plan, confirm and finalize the plan, and lead the execution. He will set the uniform, player roles, and current objectives.

While the acting TL has the final say, the TLs/Admin selected are trusted to facilitate a good time among the other members, listening to input, and switching around roles.

    4. Appearance (No GI Joe!)
    • But seriously, a pony tail? An eyepatch? Cowboy hats?? Nah
    • UOD decided based on mission and geography
    • Either conventional (think 75th Ranger Regiment, mulitcam) or unconventional (think US Green Berets/contractor. Creative variation encouraged)
    • UOD up to Teamleader, input welcome

    5. Tactics
We’ve adapted SUT (small unit tactics) to Ghost Recon, utilizing unconventional tactics. We reference the Ranger Handbook for basic formations, movements, and approaches, manipulated for the game. Since it’s a small unit, every brain is needed and opinions are encouraged! Just be flexible. There are specific roles that need to be filled with such a small team- you’ll have one and be relied upon from the team to do your part!
We don’t respawn, either revive, or lose and restart!
With 4 people, you don’t need a drone to do your job! It’s only use is reconnaissance here.

    6. Maturity
    • 16+ (unless you prove exceptionally mature and level-headed)
    • Disagreement allowed, drama is not.

    Task Force Inquires

    Hello WRANGLER,

I am interested in switching from my task force (due to lack of members) to a real MilSim type Task Force like yours, but I have some inquires.
Please answer accordingly (1) answer, 2) answer, etc...)

    1) How many troops are in this Task Force, and are most of them online most of the time?

    2) How lenient would you be in Loadout choices?
Loadout Includes; 1st Weapon M4 or ACR (ACR with 203), 2nd Weapon(s) Sniper SR1 (I mostly play as Marksman when no else steps up) SMG MP5, Handgun 9mm or 5.7 USG
All weapons suppressed at all times unless discussed by group

    3) HUD Limitations; is their some wiggle-room on certain "ON's or OFF's" for those with vision problems?

If you happen to respond, thank you in advance for taking your time getting back to me.

    Response

    RAZER_DEADMAN86,

Good questions, I'll go in detail just to clarify all points:

We're currently at 6 members. All of us either work full time, are in school full time, and/or have family/relationships/social/religious lives as well that come before games. That said, much time is put into prep and "training" to make sure everyones on the same page when everyone can get on. We're very coordinated with when guys are getting on in, which is pretty easy with less than 6 guys. We are anywhere from east to west coast with a variety of day/night shift and we've managed to get on probably 2-3 nights per week average. If you're on every night, chances are there will be at least one other member able to hop in.

We switch out loadouts constantly in designated pre-op staging areas, so for that reason, we will always carry one primary (assault rifle, sniper rifle, designated marksman, LMG) and one secondary (SMG and shotgun). If a sniper position is needed, one man will fill it with his primary being a sniper rifle. Otherwise, you'll fill another needed role (Rifleman, Automatic rifleman, Designated Marksman). We're always switching up roles so everyone gets a taste of everything and always take role preferences into consideration, so just ask!

It would depend on which ones you'd like to keep on. We do that for clarity of communication and increased inter team dependency. Seeing enemies positions through walls and on maps just doesnt do that for us. Are there specific ones you could mention?

Also, feel free to add me on PSN and get on with some of us sometime to see if its a good fit. Absolutely no pressure to join, just a test drive for you and for me and my guys. Its very relaxed and laid back, because everyone here likes the same playstyle and knows what to expect. You're welcome to seeing it. If we both decide its a good fit, we'll do a little bit of "training" and tactical rundowns and you'd be free to join us whenever.

    Thanks,

    THE_WRANGLER_14,

A 6 member Task Force is easy to keep an eye on everybody, I'm available about 5 days a week including my personal life into the mix. It is a little unfortunate that only about 2 people will be able to play at a time as I was hoping to hop into a group to make a full team, but we'll see.

Discussing Loadouts are fine by me, I agree with you there's no need for two or more people running the same loadout.

HUD options I was thinking about "ON or OFF" toggle-ing were; Objective Markers, Rebels Locators, and Mini-Map. However I'm willing to experiment.

I'm assuming that "THE_WRANGLER_14" is your PSN ID, so I'll add you when I'm online next and we can do some Training Exercises.

    Good hearing back from you.

    FORCE-PROTECTION: EXTRACTION. ASSAULT. RECONNAISSANCE.
    [FEAR]

FPCON Delta usually occurs only in the areas that are most vulnerable to or have been attacked. ... Force Protection Level I Antiterrorism Training defines FPCON Delta as: FPCON Delta applies when a terrorist attack has occurred or when intelligence indicates imminent terrorist action against a specific location.

Force protection (FP) is a term used by the US military to describe preventive measures taken to mitigate hostile actions in specific areas or against a specific population.

Realistic and Immersive game play. Operations will be based off an SOP. Utilizing real-world military tactics and stealth/tactical approach. Looking for a tight knit fire-team that have similar interests in this style of role play/immersive/realistic approach to operations. Looking to create a cohesive task force with multiple fire-teams that are interchangeable at all times.

Looking for mature players. Ex-Military as myself is a plus, but open to anyone looking for this type of experience.

This will be an all extreme engagement (NO HUDS) and we will approach every operation with a realistic mind set. We do not utilize max skills, Max Ammo, etc - settings are realistic.

If you are interested or this sounds like you, send a message and we can run some ops and I can also send you a copy of the SOP that I created to see if this fits your style.

There is no HUD - if you see the SOP, we follow a realistic military set of standards. Sometimes a little too authentic for players, casuals, or non military.....either way good luck as well.
