Whether or not the Centurion is actually overpowered, I'm sure most of us can agree that he simply isn't fun to play against. Centurion players simply don't have to exert as much effort as other classes in order to win, and it it always feels like an uphill battle against them. Keep in mind while reading this post that I am a Raider/Lawbringer main, I only play duel mode, and I know from experience that the Shugoki pretty much hard-counters the Centurion.
Most of the time, I only really see Centurions abuse heavy and Jab until they knock me down, and the use Eagle's Fury. Sometimes, they'll start with a Legion Kick, but they don't really need to. This doesn't work ALL the time (the jab is easy enough to dodge), but it's reliable enough for Centurions to use it as a crutch. I would solve this by making it so that the heavy actually has to land in order for the Centurion to follow with a jab. However, if that was the only change applied, that would merely require the Centurion to start with a legion kick before abusing the heavy/Jab combo. Therefore, slowing down the Centurion's heavy attack (even without the aforementioned issues, it's still excessively fast) so that there's time for the opponent to block a heavy after being Legion Kicked or Jabbed, and/or increasing the cooldown after the Jab but still allowing it to chain into a light attack so that the Centurion actually has incentive to use the Jab Combo.
In that regard, I'm not asking for the Centurion to be made weaker, but for him to be made more interesting. For Honor just isn't as fun when more than of half of the players I encounter are Centurions who all use the exact same strategy. I like the idea of a really aggressive character in a game that's currently being played to defensively, but playing as the Centurion should require much more thought than it currently does. However, there is one area where I think he is simply too strong.
The Centurion is able to knock down his opponents far too easily. All it takes is for the Centurion to land a charged heavy, which is not difficult to land at all, and follow up with a free charged Jab, which leads to a knockdown. That's especially bad since he has Eagle's Talons, which does additional damage to downed opponents, and keeps them down longer. To fix that, I think the window of time to parry a charged heavy should be increased, and the range reduced, and/or change the charged Jab so that it stuns the opponent instead of knocking them down.
Like I said, more than half of the players I encounter in For Honor are Centurions, and that just isn't good. If he is made a little weaker and falls off a little bit in the meta, I don't imagine many players would be heartbroken. In fact, many would most likely rejoice. The reward for nerfing the Centurion outweighs the cost, so Ubisoft might as well do it.
there are some parts i dont agree and some that i do. to put it short, i dont agree with the fact that a jab should be possible only if you land a heavy because the jab as you said is easy to dodge, and if so, the jab would have to be a confirmed to actually do something. to land a heavy in hopes that you can do the jab and then just get evaded from the jab its sad. however i do agree that the "Eagle's Talons" (if thats the jump on knock downed enemyes) its OP and should be tweaked.
i kind of taught of a good way to change the centurion and id strongly and nicely ask you to take a look at this, and comment and vote on the pool. i think you will find it to be a nice peace of information.

100% right, Centurion is the most brokenst hero right now i dont know if devs try heroes out before they let them in game or they just like,, hey lest do some cool stuff stuns for days heavy dmg and stun into GB sounds fun" and if they do their combo the backpaddle and turtle until full stamina there should be a cooldownd or something. This game is no fun anymore if u miss a counter GB or fail dodge cause warden dodge is bullsh** and he reaches u with his kick u are fu*** up cause of his broken rotation ubisoft needs to fix this
All other heroes looks balanced now and then there is Centurion
Peace
im not gonna say why i disagree, it would be a long *** potato pist. but i must say that again, cooldowns have no place in this game except for the feet skils. it is a fighting skill based game and cooldown will ruin it. try imagine your mai and second hero with a hell of a cooldown on his most usefull attack and tell me you wouldnt teow him out the window. or anyother hero for that matter. so regarding of anything else, cooldown its the worst ideea to put in this game, besides a gun
Ummmm.... no. The centurion forces you into a defensive play style with his excessive stamina AND stamina drain, then punishes you for it. He's a broken hero that doesn't fit the game.Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post

Honestly, if we really want to talk about "not fun", fighting against a warlord or a conq is like twice, thrice more boredom than fighting a cent.
Fighting the cent becomes not too bad when you really get used to how his combos work -- upto a level where you can identify every one of his moves in succession and know it's counters by heart. When you have that experience, even if you make a mistake you're often able to adequately escape the situation by countering the "weak links" (unguaranteed attacks) between centurion moves... and that's often very satisfactory.
In my case, ,my most satisfactory moments are CGBing the cent's quickthrow attempts constantly... and countering the legion kick with a dodge, and then countering the immediate UB heavy again with a parry... if I get to dodge a legion kick, and then see a UB heavy feint into a GB and then CGB as well, that also feels awesome to pull off.
I do agree the cent efficiency related to stamina -- both his own stamina usage rate, and his stamina damage capabilities are out of whack... and I also do agree that he has too many "guaranteed" attack parts in between... and that does bring up the difficulty of the fight a whole lot if you aren't too familiar with centurion moves... but IMO it's still adequately challenging.
It took me a long time to finally memorize where I have to expect a UB heavy to pop out, and how to really watch the move and dodge when the attack actually comes out. After failing so much, the first time it worked it felt awesome, and afterwards as I steadily became more likely to simply "just dodge" that so-called "bullshi* tracking" I did get a feeling that I've become at least a little bit better as a player. It's those kind of moments which fighting game fans live for.![]()
Sorry for taking so long to respond. I told this website to notify me any time someone responds, and... It didn't. I do appreciate your feedback.
Anyway, the Centurion has fallen off significantly for some reason, so I don't really see him as much of an issue anymore. However, I am interested to hear what it is that you don't like about fighting the Warlord and Conqueror. I honestly think the Conqueror could use a buff, or at least be reworked into something more interesting. My idea is to change him so that building momentum with his flail actually matters. For example, Final Argument and the second heavy in Reaper's Crush should deal more damage, and/or making it possible to charge heavies during attack chains. More importantly, it should be easier for him to land regular attacks so that spamming the Shield Bash/Heavy combo doesn't feel like the only viable option.
