e.g. the last farcry multiplayer to ever be produced that was worth a damn.
lets face it, fc3 mp was great minus the client-to-client and lack of bug fixes and some minor updating/tweaking etc. beyond that, it was a great game. Can we get something like that back in farcry5? I want a competitive FPS multiplayer game again... co-op is for kiddies, its fun when you are drunk/high or lazy, but its not serious.
Lets rewind back to Febuary fo 2013 and listen to LMS007
btw, I have ~150,000 frags in this game, I learned a thing or two.

For me the worst Far Cry Multiplayer game was 4 followed by 3 then 2 and IMO the best was Predator which had vehicles, 16 players online, 5 excellent MP modes, weapon and health placement - we could use ziplines and gun turrets in our user made maps - it was a fun game.
Far Cry 3 tried to be call of duty with the barrel bombs, perks - the MP modes were a joke because the majority would play out until the time ran out with an exception to FireStorm which was a mess.
The worst thing was the dodgy spawn system where you have the initial spawn then after that it is all shared spawns - I honestly don't know how you could like that crappy MP game it was also riddled with bugs as you said.
Some of the Ubisoft maps were excellent I liked Subpen, MudSlide, the Ruins one and Shipyard plus a couple of others - The Ubi Maps had ziplines and gun turrets but not user created ones - Far Cry 3 I liked the single player and I didn't mind coop (Battle Cry was ok in coop but I hated in in PVP)
As far as map makers go Far Cry 3's multiplayer died within the first week god help us if FC5 has the same MP system as FC3 it would be suicide.
I didn't care much for the MP in FC3, less so for FC4. How coop is for "kiddies" I'll never understand, but hopefully the MP component for this game is a better & more polished experience than has been seen in the recent titles... The more I start thinking about it the more interested I am in the MP portion, but I am trying to remain cautiously optimistic and not let expectation get the better of me...
As someone who has admittedly less concern with the how of getting into or finding a match I just would want the MP itself to play better than it did in FC2/3/4... it has always been janky AF imo....Originally Posted by Sabotur Go to original post
I really enjoyed FC2 and FC3, even with all the migrations, bugs, lags, etc etc etc, I loved FC3 MP a lot. FC4 I did not like at all: Too large maps (compared to the amount of players), too little time, to much weapon inbalance between teams.... I hope to see (1) re-spawning after death (which is not possible in Six Seige and another upcoming game), (2) enough players for the size of the map (4x4 or 5x5 is not a problem, if the map is not too large, but I would prefere more players), (3) sufficient time (12 minutes or so) to spend in a map (more than just 4 or 5 minutes per game, in which you get nothing done).
I am in no way suggesting they should not do lobbies & public hosting, I have no strong feelings as to how that aspect is handled. If the mappers say it needs to change to make user made maps easier to find & play on then I'd say that's what they should do. I'm simply saying that I believe the good gameplay experience comes from responsive, polished gameplay mechanics & stable net code with a consistent, lag-free user experience. Whether it is on a user-made map or not, the MP gameplay must be enjoyable first & foremost or creating maps, to me, would seem like a fruitless endeavor to spend hours creating something for a MP experience that isn't even fun to play... That is why I hardly bothered with it in FC2/3/4...

Only hardcore mappers REALLY understand this. People who get the game for the campaign mainly, do not.
If we dont get the facilities to host our maps PUBLICLY and have our friends easily jump right in, along with other players, then whats the point? It might be nice this time if they included bots to fill vacant spots, and when humans join mid game, they would take it over. At least having that as an option
