I said it before somewhere that Far Cry 3 & 4 were something of an annoyance to me at the beginning, more so because I felt that UBI destroyed the franchised with FC2 but at least the main character was supposed to be a military trained operator and not some kid who miraculously became a Rambo overnight. Not until I wrapped my head around the fact the game was more of a Fantasy/Adventure shooter did I begin to enjoy it and enjoy it I did... sans the grinding you must do at the beginning and some of the side missions that are just pitiful and childish at best.
After the let down that was Future Soldier and seeing where the gaming industry was taking their games, I came back to the GR forum with realistic views (some people call it negativity) and so far, I was not let down but I do agree with most people here that if UBI would have launched this game without the TC & GR, people would have taken a much better like to it because it would have been just another but newer genre TPS military/adventure open world game. I personally would have done the teammate AI more like FS so they really would not be a hindrance more than they help out as they claim and it would have been better than to blatantly lie and come out with the "We didn't want the player to micro manage the teammate AI"What????, isn't that part of what made GR great?
.
At the end, the Gaming Industry has become a Commercial Entity, hence, why believing that they listen to you is another lie no matter what they say and you got to find the enjoyment where you can, perhaps even make your own fantasies of the game to tell yourself you are thoroughly enjoying the game. Perhaps you are genuinely enjoying the game the way it is... more power to you.
One thing I know (and here I thought I never would admit it let alone say it in a forum because I have always consider myself one to enjoy playing tactical games more than run and gun) is I am looking forward to Far Cry 5 more than looking forward to whatever the next TC Ghost Recon game will be because, if this is the initial taste of what's to come or is in store for the future of GR, I am throwing in the towel.
Talking about far cry... I found this somewhere and it did make me laugh.

Is it really so hard to believe that some people (I'll wager a lot of people) may actually be enjoying the game? I am critical of the TIer mode, Narco Road and some of the other aspects of the game but I'm also not going to suggest someone (or a group) is delusional just because they love the game as is or disagree with me.
....and this is really what is at the heart of threads like this. [Insert name] doesn't care or [insert name] doesn't have a clue what they like because I don't agree so I'm going to lash out with veiled insults or a directed slight intended to provoke a confrontational response. ......e.g. trolling.
Personally, I think GRW has flaws and I don't necessarily like some of the decisions they made for this franchise or this particular game. ....but it is still my favorite title right now on PS4 and the only reason I am active on these forums (because I enjoy the game and want it to see it continue in the direction I believe they first intended).
I would hope we could continue to discuss the issues of the game rather than spending time insulting one another. Personally, if I really hated this title, Ubisoft or fans of the game, I wouldn't be here. I have other things in my life I enjoy that I would rather devote time to.
Just seen the latest news from Ubisoft; R6 about to hit the 20 million registered players mark and last month their highest daily users figure since launch after they delayed the DLC. Yeah, that sounds like a mess; but isn't the premise in this thread that Ubisoft doesn't care? Their dedication to support R6 shows they care, and what we are reading here is exactly what the haters were saying in the R6 forums a year to 18 months ago.Originally Posted by Flaw3dGenius23 Go to original post
I agree. It's basically a military Far Cry with terrible AI and an extremely disappointing story.Originally Posted by Flaw3dGenius23 Go to original post
That said, the ability to totally customize your characters with the myriads of weapons, accessories, and camouflages is really cool, and is one of the only things keeping us playing this game.
Oh it's great they have finally managed to fix the game after 18 months although they put out tons of DLC before actually fixing the game which to me shows they care more about making even more money rather than really caring about the community dont you think? If they "really cared" it would of been fixed before a full season of DLC. The only thing they care about is getting that magical $200 out of us.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
edit: a quick browse of the Rainbow forum suggests the game is still a mess.
I completely disagreed with the OP when this was first posted, but now, this week, I have to agree. While I am hopeful that Ubi has some big huge, amazing update pending, I'm not holding my breath. It certainly feels like they have given up on this game now. Same weekly challenge for the second week in a row and the third time overall. They can't even come up with weekly challenges any more, they are asking the community to come up with them. That's pretty pathetic if you ask me. There were supposed to be four seasons of weekly challenges, were these not all planned out in advance?!
While I'll probably never play the hack fest PvP and I am thoroughly annoyed with all of the whiners asking for it, I think I am starting to side with the whiners. No news, no updates, nothing. Pretty bad.
However, they have added more new things, fixed more bugs and released more updates than all EA Battlefield games combined. So, for the people who keep asking for more weapons, clothes, mods, etc., you are being whiny little *****es. They aren't going to rewrite the entire game for you, it is what it is, deal with it. I'm sure they have taken note of all of these suggestions and will try to implement them in GRW2, if possible. Most of what I have seen people asking for is available in Arma 3. So if you haven't played that mil sim, go play it and then come back when you are thoroughly disappointed with the 1990's engine they are using.
IMO, this is the best game ever made, for me. Is it perfect, hell no, but what game is? It's pretty damn good and way better than I expected. Thanks Ubi, keep up the good work! (just get a little more creative with the challenges please)
