Well, there's plenty of that on YT I suppose. People have been complaining since launch that Extreme was too easy. And it's only become easier with patches since the enemy doesn't have omnipotent vision anymore. Even on Extreme you get plenty of time to get to cover, take a few shots, etc. when you are spotted (same may not apply on tiers lower than 20, but I haven't gone there yet). But when people complain that reloading in the open in the middle of a gun fight at the highest difficulty setting gets you killed I have a hard time to take that seriously.Originally Posted by SERPENT 1333 Go to original post
Just because several people here can't do it, doesn't mean others can't. People have been completing this game on Extreme since launch (and some with no HUD even). When I hit tier 30 I felt that was just about right for an actual Extreme difficulty. And when I hunt for convoys at Tier 28 I'm pretty much on Engaged all the time. Does that mean I'm still using the same tactics as vanilla? Hell no! You need to adapt.
To be honest, its just realistic, as far as you're not a Terminator Bullets just kill you, and they kill fast.
So I think this is ok, for me personally I think a Ghost Squad really would fall back if detected.
BUT...
what bothers me is the Accuracy of even the poorest Uzi Thug. Yesterday one of that Freaks sniped me from the Malca Chapels Rooftop, standing 150 Metres outside the Camp.
That's what I do when things get hot and heavy. When you're outnumbered/outgunned: throw a diversion and re-assess the situation from distance. When playing Tier One: have an Armored SUV nearby. And plan in advance and consider your egress options.Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
Currently at tier 28 and haven't run into a situation yet where I thought it was impossible.
I am enjoying the hardness of the Tier system. I played the main game on Extreme and now I'm on Extreme and at Tier 37. Two bullets down lol. You do have to adapt and give more distance to the enemy where possible and playing online with friends not at level 30 yet it was me healing them before and now it's the other way round.
Thank you.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
Really glad to hear that, I mostly like to play on easy, but will try to get some of the tier rewards.
Yeah ok. Not sure why you quoted me since I didn't contradict anything that you said.Originally Posted by TristanKay Go to original post
I've played on extreme with several people, but most of them are going down way too much, which entirely defeats the point in my book. I keep telling them to get to cover, you're too close, etc., etc., etc., but few people listen. It's obviously more of a macho thing; they have a desperate need to brag about how easy it is for them to play on extreme... but since they are dying, then that doesn't really count, does it? Sure, anyone can play on extreme, it's as easy as clicking a button.... but how many can actually survive on it?
Ubi should have made extreme difficulty such that if you die then the game is over for you, like the best of the old GR games. That would be the only way to make it realistic. Until then, whenever I hear someone describe it as realistic I just have to laugh, and can no longer take that person seriously. Furthermore, any truly good player will be the first to admit that there are a lot of bases where you can't simply stealth snipe everyone. You have to get engaged at some point to clear the base, and clearing an Unidad FOB when you are engaged isn't even remotely easy. My point was simply that most of these people bragging about how easy it is are either dying or they are purposefully avoiding the difficult engagements. Thus they won't provide a video.
I am just playing until I get the other gun which I think is Tier 10 and then I am done. I find as many guys as I can with binocs and drone and then use Rebel Spotting for the rest. Then I try to kill as many as I can sniping and sneaking. Then when I get spotted I send in my boys and use their GOD sniping to kill the rest.
I think that deliberately avoiding confrontation is a valid style of play. If you can pull off going in a Unidad base and attaining your goal undetected (either by Ghosting completely or by creating enough havoc to create confusion), that's part of being a Ghost, no? At least I would expect a team of four operators to steer clear of large contingents of heavily armed military. We're not a bunch of god-like terminators.Originally Posted by SERPENT 1333 Go to original post
I'd welcome a no-revive option myself as like you said, it's way too easy to just hop in a fight, die, get revived (up to three times with the proper upgrades) and still come out on top. Not sure how you can tell if a person dies a lot though, I don't think there's a number of times killed stat in GRW network or the game? There's the average life time, but I don't think that says enough.
Still, as long as the game mechanics allow it, it's fair play. Can't blame the players for taking advantage of flaws in mechanics or taking the path of least resistance. It's like that in every game.
No problem. Also, (not sure if you're aware) but the easier difficulty levels will become locked out where you will eventually only be able to play in extreme mode as you get closer to Tier 1. At what Tiers these restrictions begin to take effect, I don't know. I only play in extreme mode so I never took notice of it until a friend told me about it.Originally Posted by IsAZebraACat Go to original post
btw, extreme difficulty even in the early stages of the Tier system is noticeably harder. I can't imagine how it will be as you approach Tier 1 and there is no other option for an easier mode.
