This game is dying because you wont add chip damage

There is no benefit from attacking on this game. all people need to do is block and there is nothing you can do to damage them. If you don't add chip damage before the ranked mode then it will be the final nail in the coffin for this game.

Don't get me wrong, I understand where you're coming from in wanting to add a bit of chip damage. It is often better to play the game defensive and reactively as opposed to offensively, because playing the aggressor is a quick way to be rewarded with punishment. However, I have to disagree that chip is the major problem with the game. There are plenty of reasons the game is dying, and if chip is on the list, it has to be relatively low on the list. From a realism standpoint, if effectively block, deflect, or parry a blow, you aren't necessarily going to be hurt. Stopping a blade from cutting into flesh or a blunt edge from the full brunt of the impact, realistically, isn't going to damage you in any other way than to slow you down and tire you out. I'd say that perhaps rather than chip damage, blocking attacks should have a pretty high impact on your stamina, but I'm going to keep my mouth closed on that front because stamina is already a laughable joke now as it is and our characters are already exhausted after 2-3 swings of their weapon. We don't need any further stamina depletion than what we already have to deal with. Now, perhaps you'd want to argue that in other fighting games there is chip damage, but I don't really feel it is needed here. This isn't a hand to hand game where you're blocking attacks with your own body and chip damage makes sense because you are taking the hits directly, the attacks are being blocked/deflected with a weapon that is absorbing the majority of the impact.

if they remove the GB after parry, chip damage won't matter. with chip damage matches will end faster but if they remove GB after parry witch I think is the main reason ppl can play defensive meta, and don't ad chip it will be a more I tense match (without punish g you for attacking and wncouraging defense meta

Totally agree. Chip damage won't change anything for high level players who can consistently parry and will change average/low level play into a heavy spamming contest. Adjusting the parry reward is probably the best solution to discourage players from turtling.
