Ranking should be cherecter based not account based. | Forums

As far as I could tell from the stream and looking at the PTS real quick this is not how it will work and I pretty heavily disagree with it. I think the ranked mode should be based on each character not based on your whole account. At the very least for 1v1. I personally play 5 characters right now and I can only assume that I'm not equally skilled with all 5...but the thing is, I have no idea which of the 5 is my actual best character that I'll have the most success with in ranked, but when it comes to rank I wanna be doing my best so I would only want to play my best, not even my 2nd best ever. With that said this is exactly one of the problems of ranked affecting your whole account instead of only the character you play, it deters people that actually care ( you may not but there are people that do ) from trying new characters for a fear of trashing their rank. I mean we have people that rage quit to sustain their precious KDA and that is not even something other people can see in game so when you add in a clearly visible rank then you'll get even more try hard. Personally I don't care so much for getting a better score by doing things like that, what I do care for is an accurate representation of my skill, and what my best is to be precise, and my 2nd best character or a character I just picked up does not represent my absolute best.

I kinda agree with this, but not with the whole. I think ranked should be more about your skill than your character. U don't go to a tournament to try something. You go there because you want to win it. You will do it for a show off. That's me, that's how i play, that's what i can do. Not try, hoping there is someone else, how does the same.

Well, we (i mean i) don't know how this ranked will be implemented into the game. If u go for a normal game and lose your rank as well then yes, they should separate the skill and the champs. But the idea of ranked is just for tournament at then its okay by skill based. Will see how it goes.
