i think watching your next possible opponent could be a unfair advantage, since you can see his strings and mixups, that way you can win a round without problem. But yeah if you already lost and want to watch, it could be nice.
But thinking it by another side if all the players have the choice to spectate the next match (i mean the 2 guys that are fighting for the chance to fight you) it could be a good idea since players can
- Play faster in a try to get first to spectate the other player so you have some kind of advantage
- Play slower and safe but risk getting spectated by your next opponent.
For all cybersport games this is normal practice. In any fighting game there is such an opportunity. I see no reason, in terms of balance, to ignore the opportunity to watch fights.
I think there is a problem in the type of P2P connection. Perhaps this is the point. Then the question arises, why P2P, and not just connect players to the server.
The answer is laziness.
