Screen Issues with Farcry 4. VGA through HDMI adapter ends up crashing screen.

Game causes Screen to Crash when using VGA connected through HDMI (DVI works)
I've had this same thing with other Ubisoft titles on my computer.
It's a strange phenomenon. I prefer using my screen through a VGA->HDMI adapter as that offer my screen the most pleasant settings. Using DVI makes my eyes hurt for some reason, not sure why. I've toyed around with settings extensively and not found a way to make DVI enjoyable using this monitor.
Has anyone come across this occurrance before? Any ideas how to get my HDMI set up to work?
My screen card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 960. My monitor is SyncMaster P2350.

Playing through the HDMI adapter causes my computer to lose connection to my screen and causes annoying glitching. (Makes the screen just not work and after quitting game, graphics are all screwed up.)

it probably needs to be replaced with a screen that supports HDMI input or Display port from the back of your GPU
i have noted my 40 inch HDTV works better then my 24 in acer screen as i plug that straight out from the HDMI port on my GPU to the HDMI input on my HDTV

my acer screen like your does not have HDMI in .so i have been shopping around for one that does ..but for now the 40in hdtv parked right next to my desk works great for gaming, i put it on a swivel base .. i just swing the screen around when i game

i also had a strix GTX 960 .. upgraded now to a Gigiabyte GTX 1060 6 gig Windforce 2 card

only really use my monitor for windows stuff ,,when i game i rotate the TV over and plug it in via HDMI (with a damn expensive HDMI cable i got..GOLD PLATED ENDS AND REALLY THICK WAS SUPPOSEDLY ONE IF THE BEST ..least that is what they said when i complained about it being $40 for a 10 foot cable ..they said it had a better transfer rate )

the reason the screen bothers your eyes is your /max refresh rate on that screen = is only 60 Hz in 1080 P

or you need to be a bit further away from the screen

you could try lowering your res to 720 P and it may help as the refresh rate you then may be able to adjust up to 75 Hz in your nvidia control panel , or try moving back a bit ..but sadly tho your screen, why still a great one ..is 7 yrs old , that screen came out in 2010

and does not have native HDMI support (just like my screen ,,, only dvi ) ..thats why i use my 40 inch HDTV for games (it supports HDMI)

but if i were you i'd start shopping around for a newer monitor that supports both a 144 HZ refresh rate and native HDMI or display port connections ..l.i know i been saving for a new screen for a bit now ..7 yrs old is getting to be too old for a monitor these days with the New GPUs that are out
