I have put a fair amount of time into Wildlands, but am now without a save. Last week, my Windows PC was giving me severe enough issues that a format was in order, but little did I realize, my saved game must not have been syncing to the cloud (or, if it was, some bug interfered). It sucks to lose all of that progress, but I figured it wouldn't be too hard to just snag the saved game from my brother, who I've played nearly 50 hours with. No such luck, though. I import his save, and the game tells me it's corrupted (even though it works fine just for him; we play side-by-side).
Is there anything I can do here? Or am I truly out-of-luck? If it's the latter, this one is definitely going on the shelf. Well, since I was in the middle of the DLCs, and those are not that big to start over, I might do that much, but it still sucks to lose the entire progress of my main game.
Thanks!
PS: Ubisoft, why not put saved games in more sane places, like AppData or Documents? Ugh. I wouldn't be in this situation if that was the case.
Nope they are tied to your Ubisoft account. So you could load his off line and it might work. But the minute you go online EAC will check your file (it keep on every player) Along with the Cloud Sync server that looks inside your save at the uplay Id. Your going to have to start all over again. Unless you start the game with your Sync Cloud turned on then it will load the last save you did do with it active.
AS for saves being where they are. All ubisoft game saves are stored there. It's always been like that. That is why you use the Cloud Sync. So when something happens to your PC your games will be saved. Steam, Origin, EA, Bethesda all do it the same way. Just save the 1771 folder to a Google Drive or MS or Apple cloud sysnc and you will have it saved someplace other than on your PC too.
Thanks for the response! I figured all of that was the case, and it's unfortunate. I liked the game, but not enough to redo 50 hours' worth of gameplay. I always have cloud saves enabled on my main PC, so I have no sweet clue what happened here. I always backup my saves in case, and usually have my bases covered if I backup Documents and AppData; no such luck this go around. Going to add a backup scheme that backs up the entire UPlay game folder going forward.
I would submit a support ticket and see what they say, couldn't hurt at this pointOriginally Posted by Deathspawner Go to original post
