Why can't you just dodge? It's a 50/50 for a reason.Originally Posted by Felis_Menari Go to original post
Maybe you don't get this Gemoroda, but people like to be able to control their characters. As soon as you give another character a move that removes control for the opponent you've created an unbalanced character. In the above case it's not really 50/50 anyway. It's more like 80/20 to the lawbringer. Why, you might ask? Well, because you have to dodge fast enough in the first place, he also gets to chose which option he's going for and after trying it once or twice he'll know your pattern, whether you always dodge or always just take the hit waiting for the guardbreak.Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
The shove is also not easy to dodge. Maybe you're in the top 1% for reflexes but that shove after a block is lightning fast. OP is right, it just encourages turtling.
In the current state, it is in a Lawbringer's best interest to not attack and just stand there, waiting to block. Thanks to the last patch that sped up his guard stance change, this is easier than ever. I don't know about you, but standing around and not attacking doesn't make for very interesting gameplay to me. The whole idea of something that is too fast for reaction and requires guessing doesn't sit well with me, and the opponent doesn't even get a punish. They just don't get hit. So if they guess correctly, nothing happens. I think block shove should require more stamina to at least try to make it less of a no-brainer, and maybe a longer recovery on whiffed attacks.
Ubisoft should never give th same block speed for everyone. There was a reason those heroes had slower block time.
Lawbringer was always a pain in the ***, now he is a kick on it.
I think the only one who could really use the new block speed without annoy anybody else was the Raider. All the other heroes wasn't balanced by that, but overbuffed.
Shugoki, Nobushi, Centurion, Lawbringer... look at their strengths and how a slower block time was a way to give you a better chance over their tools.
Devs said "we need data", but it is pretty clear they did that only because community pressure. The bad players community pressure.

You are literally complaining that all heroes are on an even playing field with guard stance changes. You want the game to return to when some heroes, with factors such as connection coming into play as well, literally could not change their guard in time to defend light spam from heros such as Valk/ PK/ Shinobi. So many times I know for a fact my guard was on the right hand side but I still got hit by an attack because my hero was still changing his stance on screen. The recovery time after been hit would not allow the hero to react quick enough to defend let alone mount a counter attack. You saying this only makes me think that you want it to return to the state it was before to get easy kills and spam lights a whole lot easier. So stop complaining that things are even.
And to the others saying "ehhh but turtle is way to victory for LB now and I can't handle it" you forget that every hero can also turtle up to get easy victory. So learn the current state of the game. Turtle up yourself and wait for a move. Someone will get impatient enough, and unless it's duels or some cases in brawls, it's entirely up to you to fight them so stop complaining about things you actually don't realise you have control over. You all also seem to forget that the defensive meta patch is coming "soon" to quote the devs. Stave off your tears until then at least.
