thoughts on some fun pvp varients

is there a listing so posters don't end up rehashing the same idea?

anyway, some thoughts i had that follow a common line to a degree for pvp, such as:

CTF, but with a twist. battling ships would disable one another as a team effort, completing a boarding would end with the removal of opp teams flag from ship.

variation to this thinking: once flag of a ship is captured, that ship is forced to switch sides, or fight for the capturing team. This could be viewed as a two fold attrition, where as your team captures more enemy ships the presumed decrease in man power per ship could effect things like firing time, ship handling, hoisting and furling sails, etc. as well, the team that lost a ship could gain a chance to pick up would-be stranded sailors from the water, giving them boosts to before mentioned stats, but at the price of potentially exposing themselves to fire from enemy ships while the collect the man overboard.

Search and destroy: a simple cat and mouse, a team hunts the ship of one player, perhaps upgrading options are benefited to the lone player over time (found cargo and sailors perhaps)

tempest last man standing: a mosh pit battle royal fought in damaging storms that reduce visibility and play havoc with trajectories.

the last thought i want to put up today on this would be crew based 1v1 (team) play. this idea may not have prior structure in place to implement but still sounds like a lot of fun. instead of all players having their own ship, all players (say 8 per team) are on one ship, taking different positions from helmsmen to gunner to marine (mast sniper) as well as support rolls such as quartermaster (which might effect how effectively the ship functions) to carpenter which would effect repairs and effectiveness of ships integrity.

There's really so much to do here,

    Hey there!

Thanks for sharing your good ideas. I like them and this one is my favorite:

tempest last man standing: a mosh pit battle royal fought in damaging storms that reduce visibility and play havoc with trajectories.
    Thanks again,
    Nash

I think we have some nice ideas here except for the multiplayer in same ship's crew I don't think it will be possible in this game,
The tempest would be really cool with some malströms you can fight turning around it like in pirates of Caribbeans or just fall in for instant death or pop up at the other maelstrom could be fun or thunder taking a mast down wind ripping sails...

ya, I'd bet your right, perhaps a thought for a board coder to pitch sometime in the future lol..

ya, think it would be a lot of fun... imagine shooting down someones masts and then leaving them to the tempest's wrath heh... just don't think on it being you too long, might do bad things to the digestion
