Well, then just don't buy their games anymore, I bought R6 a while back and I can still enjoy it after playing it daily, bought it like 2 to 3 months ago. It has it flaws, but it's fun, and they are gonna fix things, enough said about R6 anyway. If others want to buy Ubi their games let them, just don't make this a salty community already.

Or they just know what kind of games Ubisoft produces and manages their expectations and timing of purchasing them accordingly? I don't understand how people keep allowing themselves to get hyped up for Ubi titles like they're going to be ground-shaking then get disappointed when expected issues hit them on launch or they do things in their cookie-cutter way. I tend to buy Ubi titles a little later down the line expecting a fair solid gameplay experience that has an interesting setting to it and that's what I keep getting so I'm pretty satisfied with their titles.

But that is the thing! If you go and buy For Honor with said expectations; fair solid gameplay experience, there is absolutely no way you will be satisfied with the product. And I am not talking about its release state, I am talking about its 5 months into release state.

Matchmaking is completely broken all matches are lopsided. Connection is horrible half the time game crash with errors due to connection. Character balance is horrible with no fixes on horizon so far. Meta is really bad, fighting game where attacking is the worst strategy. Bugs keep going on for months.

But real problem is that they dont even attempt to fix anything, instead they focus on developing tournaments which are just time drains (3min play then 10 minute wait for next match and if you dont wait you are eliminated) instead of a meaningful ranked mode or fixing problems.

Everything people said is valid, I am not saying don't buy at all. But NEVER PREORDER or buy EARLY. Because one thing ubisoft delivers without failure is disappointment at release with a product that does not work.

First of all it's odd to have a for honor profile pic when you hate so much the game then, I only played on PVE in for honor cause I have a non constant network so not so much problems, then it's realistic attacking being the more dangerous strategy, IRL it's like that, I'm doing historical fencing which for honor is partially based on and it's dangerous to attack you'd often prefer being defending cause lot's of conter choices, but watch for conter counter attacks.
Then appart from for honor what are your issues rayman is quite funny with really hard levels, I had so much fun playing some rabbids game and oh my god I love the Far Cry serie not to mention AC serie in which I had a lot of fun

Your comments are very weird. Of course I have a For Honor picture on my profile, because it is the last Ubisoft game I bought and have been actively playing. What should my avatar be a rabbid? Even more so relevant since my comment is completely based on the way For Honor is handled and its poor service? If anything someone without a FH avatar talking about For Honor's problems in terms of execution and poor service should raise suspicion, not the other way around.

About your comment on attacking being the more dangerous way being correct. I am going to assume you havent played a single PvP game that involves fighting. Because anyone who has the slightest experience would realize how broken it is and ask the question 'wait if noone attacks, so you just stare at your opponent until time runs out?' which is exactly what happens in some duels. Noone wants to attack since risk vs reward is heavily leaning towards defensive play, creating the most boring gameplay experience ever developed.

And coming to your last point, S&B is not a singleplayer game, it will be a mixture of Division elements and FH PvP modes, or maybe like some people claim no open world at all and no land, just some PvP modes the way FH is. So any comparison to singleplayer games is pointless, and both division and FH have been massive let downs, and at this point I am pretty certain noone needs the explanation as to why.

I'm not saying it's funnier the mechanic of being more dangerous attacking just more realistic that's all.

Plus CMs said it would be open world and with story driving the gqme (so not a side story like in FH) then the team has nothing in common so be free to have no hope but always waiting for the worse is not always the best way to see things to me.

I seem to have missed that one, can you please quote/link it to me???

I have been under the impression that this game was pretty much For Honor with ships, because as someone who kept watching early development information on For Honor and the way they put it to words what it was back then.. It is practically the exact same things S&B team says now.

Influencing the world was something that was constantly brought up by FH team, and it turned out to be the thing called faction war per seasons. If you dont know what it is.. it is practically nothing.. As in literally.. you dont effect it at all, noone does and there is not even a point to it. Just that the map keeps changing colors and they give a few spare chests afterwards which is also nothing. I think there will be an ocean map and it will keep changing colors/flags the way FH map does since it is mentioned in the identical way Faction Wars was mentioned in FH.

Seasons: we already know that part is identical

Not getting off the helm of ship is confirmed. So you are practically a ship, and always being on water is also confirmed, so there is no land. In the absence of land.. I fail to see how a story driven game can even exist?

Game modes are confirmed: That is practically what For Honor is 1v1, 2v2 and 4v4 game modes. Nothing more. And so far nothing they said points otherwise as far as I know??

Coop Story mode: For Honor was advertised with same thing, but it doesnt work in FH and I dont think it will ever gets fixed. Not that anyone cares.

Specialist different ships and collecting and customizing them: That one is identical to unlocking and customizing new heroes in FH.

All in all, the wording they use is very vague so far and selective. But how much similar it is to the wording used in For Honor marketing makes me think it is pretty much same setup. Would love to be wrong in that, because I want it to be good. But as someone who was burned by the mess called For Honor, I feel it a responsibility to warn people against Preordering. Just be patient and check the reviews after release to see if it i what it seems to be, and more importantly to see if it works. For Honor, after 5 months still does not work half the time.

I think before saying such things you should wait to try the game and then every comments and ideas will be very welcome.

    Thanks for your understanding,

First of all, the reason why For Honor is such a mess is not the development studio's fault. It's how the game was managed by Ubisoft. Almost everyone who has played For Honor agree that the game at it's core is fun, and that it has a ton of potential. The reason why For Honor is plagued with technical issues, lack of content, and a general inability for the dev team to balance the game is because Ubisoft rushed the game to release, and then cut down the team to a skeleton crew once it hit the market. Now you have a team responsible for a laundry list of issues they are expected to address, but without the necessary resources or staff to handle said issues.

The fact that a different development studio is handling Skull and Bones does not mean they aren't still responsible to same the higher-ups that mismanged For Honor. Ubisoft, as a global company, only cares about pleasing their ignorant shareholders. These shareholders don't care about making good games, in fact most of them probably don't even understand video games. They simply see their shares in Ubisoft as an investment, and as such they are expecting the maximum return as possible, and are pressuring Ubisoft accordingly. Publishers invest heavily in marketing schedules to hype up their upcoming releases, and if a game is not in a state for launch, there is no room for delaying the launch to release a better product. While this profits over the product mentality isn't limited solely to Ubisoft, they do have a disturbing trend lately with their most recent games. One needs to only look at R6:Siege, The Division, and For Honor, which were all released in extremely buggy states, lacking content, and with extremely shallow features.

It's clear Ubisoft's modus operandi is to set a target date for release very early into development, set a strick schedule for the development team with no room for change, regardless of the issues during development, and then release the game regardless of the state it's in with plans to incrementally patch the game over the next 12-18 months to deal with all the issues at launch they chose to ignore.

We should give them the benefit of the doubt I read in a game informer that they learned their lesson with For Honor and are using dedicated servers rather than that Peer-to-peer crap for honor used which was it's most major down fall I don't know if you noticed but it played fine when you were offline. and while I Agree Ubisoft is bad about the money grab The Ac series has always been fun and aside from say the first one that released on next gen consoles have been relatively free of bugs. While it is appropriate to have Reservations after For Honor they've taken flak for it and as a major Gaming company I think we can give them a little benefit of the doubt. not saying you should rush to buy all their products in fact we should definitely take a wait and see approach to this game but I don't think it's fair to immediately hate it just because For Honor Flopped
