Not leave it in Cent stunlock and assassin favoritism!
Is it true that there's almost no-one playing For Honor now?
Sure the figure of 95% was misleading since it was only for steam players... But 95% of Steam players no longer play... What's the stats on the other mediums? 85% stopped playing on U-play? 93% stopped playing on consoles?
I hate to mention 'no man's sky' but there, I said it. You released the game too early. You should have had a longer beta period...
You should also fire your balance testers, haha. Or you know, quietly demote them.
I laugh but seriously they've done a poor job in determining which heroes are overpowered and which are under-powered. Wait... Do you even have balance testers? Maybe you don't... That would explain a lot.
Or perhaps they're simply a 'balance team' and they're expected to both test and then program. If so then I would say you've made a mistake. Sometimes a character can look balanced on paper (or in coding) because their stats look proportional to other characters. However in reality one stat might be more important than another stat. So simply keeping them proportional might not work.
Here's an example: An average character might have a speed of 50 and an attack of 50. You take a 'heavy' character and give him a speed of 25 and an attack of 75. You take a 'light' character and give him a speed of 75 and an attack of 25. It all looks balanced right? Except in reality the light character gets a lot of hits because he's faster and harder to react to whereas the heavy gets almost no hits since he is constantly dodged or blocked.
I have to be honest though. For Honor is a bit unique in it's balancing. It gives assassins the same damage as heavy characters but makes them much faster at the cost of a little health. Using your brains and the point I made above please take the time to see why this is a terrible balance choice.
I should clarify that by "unique" I meant "downright stupid".
To be entirely blunt... I think your last and only chance is with the defense meta patch... It's been hyped up as the thing that will fix For Honor. You HAVE to run some sort of promotion for the game when you release it because otherwise no-one will give it a second look and no matter how good the game becomes you'll still have almost no players.
I'm sorry this post is so aggressive and harsh. It's quite different from my usual posts. However, I think I'm justified in all that I've said. Your game is dying. It's losing players like someone loses blood out an open wound. You've only got a few drops left. Patch up your wound and get yourself a transfusion or the last few drops will trickle out and dry up.
yeah i'm not buying ubisoft games anymore and its not just because of for honor, for honor is just the latest in a long list of ubisoft failuresOriginally Posted by ONYX_x5 Go to original post
People seem to be forgetting that when the Xbox 360/PS3 came out, the games in the following 3-4 years where very similar to what it's like now.
Broken, buggy and not working as intended, until the game developers started hitting their stride and they reached the full potential of the new consoles, and the game engines they made utilised it perfectly.
The same thing is happening now.
To completely write them off is not fair.
But on the other hand neither is what happened to us as a community with the shambles of For Honor.
I still believe there is hope for this game, and that future games, not just from Ubisoft but all developers are going to leave us amazed.
P2P cancer with unstable connection has been going on since Rainbow 6 Siege, at least thats the first time i saw them try that ****.
It doesnt work on PC... How long have been PC-Games around now? Longer than ubi i guess.
It is just the same **** again and again. How did they solve it in siege? Dedicated servers after a year or so, cous they haven'T been bale to make a stable game with this **** for years.
Hope? They say they don'T wana rush changes, honestly the time they take to change anything isn't carefully changing stuff, it is just lazy.
I'm against boycotting FC5. I'll tell you why. Ubisoft makes some pretty good single player games. The assassins creed series has gotten a bit crap but they made some excellent games toward the start of that series. Farcry 3 and Farcry 4 were both awesome games. I'm sure Farcry 5 will be the same.
The games we should boycott if we're wanting dedicated servers are the online P2P reliant games.
Also, I feel I should say, I didn't intend this to be a **** throwing thread where we all just tear Ubi down. They made an epic looking, epic feeling game. You don't see very many graphical glitches or physics glitches. The only issue with the game is really just the balance and the network support.
I think the For Honor team are honestly working their asses off to see this thing work. It's their creation after all, if anyone wants to see it succeed then it's them.
So, while my criticism was harsh I think all the points I've made are worthwhile for Ubi to take into consideration.

First two on the list. Take a look Ubi... It's the matchmaking and connectivity issues that kills your games. A lot of people have already written For Honor off but I reckon you could still bring it back.
I know a lot of people have shouted "Dedicated servers!" at you and you've ignored them but perhaps it's worth thinking about. I realise big server computers are expensive and that you'll have to run them for a long time after the initial release of the game, but I don't see any better ways to improve your matchmaking and connectivity issues.
You've lost most of your player base and you're losing more every day. Have you already written this game off? Are you just stalling the few players left, hoping to make a little more money through micro-transactions before leaving it a half finished mess?
If not, prove it. Give us the dedicated servers that would go a long way to fixing the game.
To be honest, despite the large costs of the servers you would probably make more money by keeping the game alive. For Honor has some real potential as an E-sports game. Can you imagine the money you'd make if it got back on it's feet, didn't have connection issues and had the character balance sorted out a bit better? If you can't imagine just take a look at Blizzard's Overwatch, or League of Legends.
Not only would it make you money, it would make your company look good too. Which, lets be honest, is sorely needed after your consecutive blunders with the recent Assassins creed games, The Division and now For Honor...
bunch of whinning people... thats why the game is dead. instaid of contributing with ideea bugs and other stuff (it is called suggestions and feedback) ypu post **** like we should stop playing dont buy games and other crap ideeas.
Endure and be helpful or stop playing the ****ing game without trying go look so important on the forum... "wuaaaa im not playing anymore wuaa uaaa" grow up man
Its basically unplayable now.
From a balancing, gameplay and technical standpoints alike. Mechanics are broken, balancing is dog ****, and everything from input to controls is hardly working.
The problem is, that it gets worse with every patch and that's the real problem here. Normally, games get better with patches - this game gets worse with every attempt to fix it.
Did you even read the above comments? Do you even know what constructive criticism is?Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
We were asked to give feedback on this forum and that's what we've done. Sure, a lot of it is negative in this post but that doesn't mean we're just whining. The reason we're still on this forum trying to give this criticism is because we like the game. We're just disappointed that it's got such massive glaring issues that put a serious negative spin on the whole experience.
Either way at least we're not some petty troll that searches forums for topics to ridicule people about. Either make a valid point or GTFO.
