It appears to be warden only, and it's exactly what makes him imbalanced.Originally Posted by Shizzle117 Go to original post
Why he can cancel an unblockable shove is beyond me, but it's been imbalanced since day one. It's astonishing that it hasn't been fixed.
Imbalanced? No. Warden has two major strengths: Shoulder mix-up and Crushing Counter.
The shoulder bash isn't a move that can be done cold; you have to A) dodge, B) light attack. Both of which are reactable. And Lawbringer's shove is more powerful. Warden's shove is super easy to interrupt; any light attack will knock them out of it. In fact, Nobushi, Valkyrie, Orochi, Lawbringer, Kensei, Raider, PeaceKeeper, and the like can overpower the shoulder mix-up with their side-step attacks.
In the right hands, Wardens are very powerful, yes, but unlike Cent or Orochi zone flicker, there's many ways around them. If you find you're getting consistently destroyed by Wardens, then you need to accept you're engaging them incorrectly. Understand each of the heroes strengths before you cry fowl. Don't try to out-feint a Berserker, don't try to interrupt a Shugoki, and, that's right, don't stand in front of a Warden.
Is it 50/50? Imbalanced. I have a high rep warden. It's imbalanced.Originally Posted by Jazz117Volkov Go to original post
If they have to rely on a cheap mechanic for the warden to be viable, it should be reworked. Period.
"50/50" is a misnomer: it's dishonest to assert that no one ever has any idea what their opponent will do next. If the Warden beats you "Screw the 50/50 imbalanced bullsh!t; I lost becuz the game is broken!", if you beat the Warden "Lol read him like a book, haha worthless Warden nonsense weak stuff lulz". And like I said, over half the roster can counter that mix-up with a dash attack.Originally Posted by brashtralas Go to original post
Everything in this game will be called "overpowered" or "imbalanced" until each hero's individual strengths are nerfed to the point everyone resembles a Raider with hyper armour, no GB, no feints, and a cooldown on their slowmotion zone.
I find this funny. The Shoulder Charge by itself is so easy to dodge not to mention you get a free GB if he misses.Secondly, out of all theses supposed Warden Mains how many of them don't abuse the SC & SC/GB.I'd say most of them use it.Now I play Warden without abusing SC/GB but it feels like fighting with 1 arm.Warden is too slow without it,imo.Hell,I'm playing as Lawbringer & I feel a lot quicker than Warden.(PS4)Now I'm in favor of taking away the SC/GB but increase Warden's attack speed by a bit.
I don't use it, or didn't when he was my main, and yes, the warden is weak without it. That doesn't make it balanced.Originally Posted by Auztinito Go to original post
In fact, that's the very definition of imbalance.
And to jazz, if the warden can react to his opponents reaction, it's 50/50. Don't defend it. It's a poor mechanic that should t be in the game.
I defend Ubisoft often, but they're being lazy in this case by allowing it to stay in the game. Why? Because removing it requires a complete rework of the character.
Sound familiar? Conqueror says hello.
Can any other Hero in the game Cancel an unblockable shove into GB or is that only a Warden thing?
▶ IIRC, the only other "from an unblockable-directly into-GB" move that exists in the game is...
● Centurion's UB Charged Hvy-into-GB
● Orochi's deflect-Hvy-into-GB
..in all the other cases, any UB-cancel-GB move goes through the "canceled/feinted" visual queue phase without exception.
