How can I get gud at pvp?

I used to run a sticky bomb build back in the day. Now that I am back it is really difficult to pvp without the sticky bomb with the delay and all. Any suggestions on what build to use?

I think electronics airburst seeker will 1 hit people that have the minimum toughness, but In LS I noticed more people shooting and rolling past them.

The most effective build I seen is the Defence build in PvP. When you face 1 other person, you have a big advantage. Sometimes they are trouble for groups too.

To actually get good, just run your favorite build and play alot. You'll start to learn the patterns of other players running different builds.

Thanks for the advice. I think I am more an electronics players. I can't really kill players with a gun. They move too fast.

I think Firearms creates an illusion of how good someone is.

If someone has more firearms than you, you are more than likely gonna lose the gun fight, or at least struggle to win the fight, simply because on paper, they are putting out more raw damage than you, not because aren't good. Not saying it's impossible to out play someone running a ton of firearms. I'm thinking more 1v1 here, but it can also be applied to group play. You also have to factor in crit chance, which is the stat that opens the door for even more damage to show up to the party. In other games where damage isn't determined by controllable player stats, instead the weapon itself, what determines how good you are amounts to:

    • Accuracy
    • Reflexes
    • Awareness

These play a role in any PVP game, however. In The Division, I'd throw in

    • Timing your heals
    • How accurate you are with grenades
    • How well you can dodge bullets, not including chicken dancing.

Essentially, practicing the bullet points is the best way to get better. As for builds, you'll want a balance of damage and sustainability, even if you adopt a certain role.

Get yourself a high end level 29 assault rifle. This takes some time. I understand.
Now take that level 29 assault rifle to the recalibration table and roll Stable to the third slot...THIRD slot.

Now get a 256 level 30 Bullfrog. Again...might take some time.
Add all CHC and CHD mods to the Bullfrog. Absolutely no stability or accuracy mods.

Now put together an Alpha Bridge build with Savage gloves.

Equip Bullfrog as primary and level 29 AR as secondary.
Tah dah...you are now gud at PvP.

Or stack everything in electronics on a 4 piece Tactician with Inventive backpack and throw airburst seekers all over the place. That works too. LOL
