This thread is to ask advice from Division players about what lessons BioWare (and its players) should learn from The Division with its upcoming launch of supposed 'looter shooter': Anthem.
I played The Division at launch but was not overcome by it, to be honest as I found it a little soulless.
Maybe subsequent patches changed that, I don't know, maybe I'll load it up again.
What lessons from the last year of The Division do you think are particularly worth BioWare (and future players) taking away?
Thank you.
Notes:
- Whilst I'm hoping to have a discussion here, there is a companion thread on BSN where I plan to share nuggets from this discussion with BioWare players: http://bsn.boards.net/thread/11461
- This is primarily about learns from The Division, not to discuss Anthem (though that might happen too, it's not the primary aim).
My advice
Don't believe what you see in the trailers/Don't pre order and don't buy any DLC's unless you know exactly what they are.
This trailer for anthem with it's voice acting (and the little bit in the video where he says have you been there yet, her reply no not yet maybe later or something) reminds exactly of The divisions trailer E3 2013, where they walk past the Underground (part of the map/game at the time) with him saying to her we should check it out, her saying we'll go there later etc etc etc and the voice acting in all the Division trailers.
This game turned out nothing like the trailers, so beware the anthem Trailer has gone down the same path (so what you see probably won't be what you get.) you'll get a year or two of spiel and lies then a game that turned out nothing like what was shown.
Yeah it's another RPG style looter shooter.the only safe thing to come out of it so far is the DEVS they made Mass effect 1/2 and 3 best series of all time which gives me hope but the down side is the Publisher it's EA they are as bad as Activision and Ubisoft if not worseOriginally Posted by SofaJockey Go to original post
I see some big potential in Anthem.
I never really bonded with Destiny, but Anthem, if done right could match the potential of the division.
If they play it right, Anthem could be at the level we expected the Division to be at.
But, from experience, it's launch will be riddled with bugs, exploits and lack of content.
Is it just me or did Mass Effect die with Andromeda? It's a good game but it's not Mass Effect good.Originally Posted by Corrupt_be Go to original post
I actually went back and played ME2 and 3 to see if it was just false nostalgia...nope. They are better games.
