    Campaign Co-Op Confirmed!

I've done almost 4 hours worth of researching all over the internet of Skull & Bones today, the amount of new material I've found is incredible. Crew emblem customization, flag customization, ... but the biggest news I found out today I almost entirely overlooked; announced by the creative director himself, we will in fact have a story mode involving multiple characters that can be a co-op experience.

They said the exact same thing for For Honor, but it was never put in the game. I mean literally EXACT SAME thing was said for FH.

What makes you think this time they will keep their word?

    Hey there!

Thanks for sharing this with us!

What makes you think this time they will keep their word?
Because the team in charge of this game is not the same team than For Honor. You should give them a chance.

    Best regards,
    Nash

First off, please don't speak badly about any other game. I know I don't have authority to make you, but one of the Devs has also said this, so I figured Id pass on the message.

So, my response, is this. For Honor DID have a story mode, it is true, and it was playable CO-OP, but it was relatively short, I will agree. But it WAS there, and it was rather enjoyable for the time it lasted. Next, I do think they will keep their word, because this game is being made with a different team. And as they have already shown, introducing us with the facts that S&B will have dedicated servers, I think they are keen to not create another For Honor-ish Experience. Frankly, from the gameplay we've seen so far, it does seem to want to show us unique features and gameplay from AC4, so I do believe S&B won't be another For Honor, at least the way YOU think of For Honor. I still play it.

    Have a good day!

I really dont mind players voicing their concerns; It creates necessary discussion in a thread that would otherwise be pretty dead.
I also worry I'm setting the bar too high for this game, but I have valid reasons. The e3 footage shows a game that damn well looks like it's in Alpha. But if that's the case, why would we be waiting a year and a half before it's release? That's a long wait for a Ubisoft game that's already shown alot of content. I'm totally okay with this. Taking time on S&B will save it from becoming FH. There's too much focus on FH multiplayer and variety lacking, and as long as S&B's micro-transactions meet up somewhere closer to the game's replayability value, I think it'll save the game.

I think For Honor is one of if not the best game released this year, in my mind I'm worried that Skull & Bones might not be able to live up to how fantastic and endlessly re-playable I find For Honor. Admittedly I'm very much a fan of fighting games and of course Skull & Bones still has much to show. I don't expect it will have the same level of combat depth in a 1-on-1 scenario but I do hope that once we are in a 5v5 scenario we'll have some truly interesting and engaging tactics and combat.

Nice find! I wasn't sure they were even planning a story campaign!

First of all, people should voice their concerns, that is why we have forums and other places to communicate with the creators. The way they put it may vary, sadly, sometimes it can sound rude.
Second, now I am really concerned. You are right about For Honor story being short and no, just having something does not mean you will enjoy it. I really hope the different team means different approach to storyline in particular. I am already happy hearing that there will be dedicated servers for Skull and Bones, so I would also love to hear any good inspiring news on single player, depth of the world, its details, NPC heroes and enemies who are not just dummies to kick aside on your path to eternal pirate glory from Skull and Bones team. I am also sure I am not alone in waiting for a really immersive pirate game, not just pvp fast matching . Probably i ask for too much, as BonafideBacon said, raising the bar too high. But surely we should not keep silent and wait for whatever the developers and artists are going to give us. Concerns should be voiced, desires should be expressed and ideas should be suggested. No valid reason to be a stalwart loyalist of the studio regardless of what direction it is moving its games in.

If something isn't there, they may just be afraid they aren't going to make strong sales to account for that.

I want a lot from this game as well, but if they spend too much on development and dont' get enough return it could jeopardize the series.

I wish they could do something like crowd-funding for experimental IP's so the consumers can directly show how much demand there is for any series, while also helping development.

I imagine there's probably reasons Ubi doesn't want to go in the direction of Star Citizen. The forums could get quite nasty. But if there's a Ubi title good enough in idea and conception where anything like that could work, this seems to be the kind of game for that.

Idk. Maybe it's a bad idea.
