Especially a dev from ubisoft... explain this missed zone attack.

Some side-dodge attacks have very short "immunity frames" on activation phase. For example, I know for a fact that the Nobushi side-dodge heavy (Sidewinder Form) has the same properties and can do the same thing.

However the "immunity" time is so tight that it can't really be used consciously -- I dunno if the super high level competitive players can do it, but I know for certain average level players can't. The window to use that "immunity" is (empirically speaking) even shorter than deflect or parry attempts, and literally split-second.

So if you want an explanation, the PK didn't foresee that happening, and I highly doubt the player used it intentionally. Probably went for a side-dodge heavy attack just as you went for the ZA, and was able to make use of the immunity by accident.

I can try and record a BOT fight to show you that it's an existing mechanic -- if you don't believe me.

Well, I'm aware that the BOTs pull some crazy b.s. moves from time to time, so if it's even a millisecond immunity, I know the BOTs will use it somehow. This crap needs to be eliminated though.

I honestly don't think that was even a dodge by the PK.

If you pause it when the Wardens sword would have been hitting the Peacekeeper you can see the PK is already in the animation pose for the Sidestep Strike move that hits the Warden a second or so later. It's a Dodge attack.

Here's an example. Try counting how many times a big horizontal strike makes through my PK's head or torso.

I'm sure you know that a Raider's Fury UB can be dodged sideways. It's the same exact mechanic of how side-dodges can do that against any horizontal swing in the game.
