Since you finally took notice of my last thread in which I told you to, and I quote, "STOP SUCKING" several times, how about this for some specific and detailed feedback: Demon's Embrace automatically killing an opponent when in critical health... Tell me how exactly is that balanced? Basically a Shugoki gets to BRUTALLY punish a player for being a better fighter and kicking his blubbery butt because of ONE mistake that fighter might make at the end. I just got out of a duel with a Shugoki in which I spent the whole time carefully watching the spacing between us, dodging and blocking at the right moments, striking only when absolutely necessary because of that hyper armor, slowly chipping away at that gigantic health pool... I took only one hit the entire time while I had reduced his health all the way down past the last bar, and then THIS happens, I mean JUST LOOK AT THIS:
For one thing that last hit I landed should have just killed him despite the hyper armor, but all that hard work dodging and blocking at the right moments, striking wherever I can and being extra careful not to get punished by the Shugoki's insane damage wasted because of my opponent's ability to do ONE thing and therefore one-shot me? How is that fair?
This was the final straw, other than the horrendous connection issues that we've all been BEGGING you to fix for months, we've been *****ing about how unbalanced this game has been since release, and this is probably the best example I can show to get that point across. We don't need a couple characters nerfed or buffed, we don't need a quit penalty implemented, we need this entire game to be reworked. So, with that being said, I'll be adding to that ninety-something percent player base that dropped from this game as I am sure you won't care otherwise.
Peace.
...sigh**

So no. It couldn't have killed -- First thing you're wrong about.
The Shugoki made a life or death gamble that just happened to have paid off. It's "unfair"? How many times have you thrown anyone down the ledge?...but all that hard work dodging and blocking at the right moments, striking wherever I can and being extra careful not to get punished by the Shugoki's insane damage wasted because of my opponent's ability to do ONE thing and therefore one-shot me? How is that fair?
The general outcome of the fight, if the way you've explained it is correct, suggests that in all likelihood you'd probably defeat that Shugoki many times over if you've fought him multiple times. But be that as it may, shi* happens in life, and you've simply met an isolated instance where you've fallen for what the Shugoki was direly hoping for.
So out of all the outcomes that come out during your fights, you just forget about every other instances where any other Shugokis might have failed, and just remember only the rare few ones like these, and rant about it being "unfair".
Grow up, man.
Yeah, judging by your attitude you're clearly not "fighting game" material. Hope you find a game that fits you better and have a lot of fun with it.This was the final straw, other than the horrendous connection issues that we've all been BEGGING you to fix for months, we've been *****ing about how unbalanced this game has been since release, and this is probably the best example I can show to get that point across. Sorry mate no offense but it is clearly your fault there. You see a shugoki in the last HP bar waiting. What do you think he is waiting for?You did the mistake and got punished for that. There are a lot more broken moves that shugoki's hug. Your warden's vortex is a lot more broken than demon's embrace. Not judging your playstyle or something, i am trying to pinpoint that Shugoki and his moves are the lesser evil in this madness called for honor balance.
Demon's embrace is if i m not mistaken the only move that if you fail comes with a self-punish.
That's Shugoki's only ace in the hole... he is literally near bottom tier since his Oni Charge got nerfed... Eveyone knows to watch out for Demons Embrace when a Shugoki is in critical health. It's balanced because A. It's ungodly telegraphed. B. It's slow as all hell. C. Massive punish to the Shugoki's own health if he misses it. D. The recovery on a miss takes forever allowing for free hits. Sure you were careful at first, but then you got greedy for the win and bum rushed him. He saw that when you started sprinting toward him, and took advantage of it. It was a sloppy mistake on your part at the end. He even took a massive gamble at the end that he could take one last smack from you in a desperate attempt to pull off a naked Demons Embrace. He didn't parry you or try to GB toss you into a wall splat (was a wall right behind him) into a free Demons Embrace. I'm sorry, but that was your fault for getting greedy and bum rushing him. Fighting Shugoki 101, when he's critical, be even MORE careful then you were before.Originally Posted by Mighty_Mackerel Go to original post
Secondly, what a juvenile way to get attention from the devs... but hey, it worked I guess... If I were a Dev though, I'd be even less inclined to listen to anything you have to say after that.
Lastly, I'm getting tired of explaining this but sure, why not. That "95% player base loss" is a media fluff story. 95% of PC players who bought, and played through Steam only. That doesn't include any players who A. Bought, and play the game on PC through U-play B. Bought, and play the game on Xbox One. C. Bought, and play the game on PS4. It was nothing more than some gamer shows grasping at straws for a "hot story" to push out as click bait.
TL;DR version : Dumb mistake bum rushing a critical health Shugoki in a greedy attempt for the win. Plus, yet another sheep who bought into the "95% of player base gone!" media lie fest.
What makes this game both great and frustrating. Is that you must be focused 100% of the time.
You know what a Shugoki can do, and yes it truly sucks but hey we have all ledge thrown someone when the chips were down.
You know for next time not to rush a Shugoki when he has literally no health.
Alright, now that I've calmed the hell down, stopped acting like a child and analyzed everything here, I will say this:
You are all correct.
I also failed to mention that I rarely fight Shugokis on a regular basis and I actually didn't know about the instant kill on critical health until AFTER this fight happened... when I looked it up. I royally screwed up and got owned.
However, my point is simply this: I think, no matter how risky or televised or punishable one maneuver is, an "instant win button" essentially is literally just not fair in nature, the scales are completely tipped in that regard when one character has that ability and the rest of the roster does not. I've never liked that concept and something like that shouldn't exist in any pvp game in the first place in MY OPINION. (It's why I don't go for the easy win by throwing people off the ledges unless I'm getting ganked in dominion, and even then I still feel like crap afterwards) Everyone else who has a gamble-like maneuver, like the Kensei's unblockable, the Warden's crushing counter strike, the Peacekeeper and Orochi's parry, the Centurion's fully charged up stab, etc. all do CONSIDERABLE damage, but none of them instant kill. If the Shugoki can do it, why can't everyone else? And if it's because he's that disadvantaged that he absolutely needs that one ace in the hole, maybe that's yet another clue among hundreds that Ubisoft needs to improve upon as if the evidence in the numbers of how much the Shugoki is picked didn't prove that already. No matter how disadvantaged a character may be, an instant kill should never be justified.
That's just me though, what do you guys think?
Anyway, whatever the case, it doesn't matter anymore... I'm still going to have to walk away from this game and games in general for a while, honestly... because they are the ONE thing that can make me this mad and act like a total A-hole online and then get thoroughly proven wrong by people who are much more intelligent.

im not saying Shugoki is overpowered or anithing. in fact after the recent guard switch was buffed (balanced) he is balanced 2. but this one shot kill is overpowered vecause one simple reason i think (correct me if im wrong): couldnt a shougoki do absolutely nothing until he is on critical hp, then with hyperarmour, just wait for an attack, whatever attack and go for a demons embrace? isnt that usualy a 100% win if people start to realise this? (i actually didnt know 2 that demons embrace is a one shot). how about make it so that if you are full healt at least, the oponent is left with 1 bar of hp? that would be... balanced. again, do nothing -> reach critical HP -> get hyper armor -> wait for an attack -> demon's embrace with hyper armor -> win the game.
its a terrible tactic which is why you will never see anyone do it. It's far too risky since its such a slow telegraphed attacked plus those with double attacks or attack fast enough can break through the Armor before it connects.Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
