Activating Join In Progress Improvements on All Platforms – Wednesday 6/14/17 @ 1:30

    Greetings everyone,

Today @ 1:30 PM EDT / 17:30 UTC we are enabling the Join in Progress improvements which Damien has spoken about on past Warrior’s Den streams. We’re excited to see these implemented and begin improving game-to-game match stability. Currently, we know that many players quit a session and go back to matchmaking as soon as a match completes and they get their rewards. This was understandable player behavior, because the game would not move forward to the next game if there were less than 6 players in the session.

With this change we are activating Join In Progress on Pre-Match Flow and End Match Flow.

Pre-Match Flow Join in Progress allows players to join matches before they start, as soon as the session is created. This will reduce mid-game Joining, which will improve the overall experience for all players in the session.

End Match Flow Join in Progress allows players to join a session when a match is finished, but before a new one starts. IE in the between game lobby. This will help sessions last longer, with no need to quit to the World Map to re-queue.

Note: activating Join in Progress should also decrease the chances of encountering issues that cause your group to disband.

I don't have an exact measure but I have a strong feeling that matches are taking a lot more to find than before. But indeed, if this patch is working then this is a good improvements. I still think matchmaking should even take less.
