I'm done until they fix Revenge

It's bad enough we haven't have a new game mode since launch. Even though a new season should have come with one. What compounds this ever growing boredom is that the 'Revenge' in its current state makes team matches virtually unplayable right now.

They listened to cry baby gankers saying it was OP. They should have just told them to chill on ganking people if you don't like it. Sadly, they didn't and they nerfed the ever loving poop out of your last line of defence against ganking. The very linchpin of survival against multiple players, gone. Then the developers wonder why people are leaving and rage quitting. I mean, seriously?!

Maybe because being grabbed, shoved, kicked, punched and even occasionally light attacked through 'Revenge' *activation* makes it worse than useless and that's deeply frustrating. They broke 'Revenge' more while trying to 'fix' it, so I'm not holding my breath. I'm just going to stop playing until I hear it's genuinely fixed.

You can't just sweep all of the issues with combat under a Revenge blanket.

The combat would still be broken with just as many problems if you had old Revenge back, but it would be easier to survive it. That doesn't make it a good solution. That's masking the issues. Sticking a plaster on a broken leg. It's not fixing the problems, it's hiding them with a Godmode that means you don't have to worry about the problems. That is not the way.

Additionally, old Revenge had the side effect of making you so powerful, that far from being the victim, you could happily plunge into a Dominion zone held by 2 enemies or take on 4 enemies at the end of an Elimination match safe in the knowledge that Revenge would allow you to kill them all.

It was OP, there was no doubt about it.

New Revenge however, has probably gone too far the other way. I don't think it should make the player more powerful, but it should make it harder for your enemies to gank you, CC immunity would go a long way to achieving that. Revenge should be more about disabling them rather than empowering you. It's a survival tool not a Rocket Launcher pick up.

Having said all that, I've had a few epic moments with new Revenge where I have killed 2 or more enemies and escaped thanks to having it active.

I agree with Gray that Revenge shoud be more of a cc immunity then an atk def empowerement. But until Centurion e Shinobies there was no such great need for cc protection. Who nows when all the character will come out.

It was in a Great spot before season two but afterwards it seems like it's a little more inconsistent with the knockdown on activation and it seems like you are being interrupted by normal attacks at times. The new characters also seem to be strong against revenge mechanics or negate them entirely. I could be wrong but I swear I've had times where it wouldn't let me activate from gb or after being thrown, it seemed like I could also cancel most actions with revenge activation before and it doesn't always do it now. Again I could be wrong about a few of these since I haven't actually tested it and it could just be attributed to poor connection.

Without question it needs to be re looked at. The fact that some characters can now continue attacking through revenge is ridiculous. IMO, you should never be knocked down while in revenge but only if the other player also has revenge. Whats the point of revenge if you spend your entire time being knocked down by cents, valyries or hugged by shugokis ect. and other players can keep attacking you while you're helpless. All the updates in the last couple months have promoted ganking imo. For me the game is most fun 4v4 game modes, with situations 1v2 or 2v3 type situations, there is nothing more fun than killing two other heroes when you are out numbered. I think the current state of gaining revenge is good but if they made it more powerful in terms of defense (not being knocked down or chars attacking through revenge) would be a good place to start in making it better

Edit: Want to add that i think revenge should be impossible 1v1 but as soon as you get hit by another player, it should exponentially increase with the amount of players youre facing

It's more that it's the straw that broke the camels back. I agree with everything you said. However, the power output and gain was already re-balanced through the gear update to be significantly less. Overall though, I think we're in complete agreement that they went overboard.

On a good day I've killed three with revenge active. However, more often than not, it's zero kills as people exploit its key weakness to CGB when you activate it.

They did over nerf revenge....all they really had to do is make revenge work something like this...

Fighting 1v1 you gain very little if any revenge.

Fighting 1v2 you start gaining a noticeable amount.

Fighting 1v3 you are gaining a moderate amount.

Fighting 1v4 you gain a huge amount.

That would have balanced out revenge....but to be in revenge mode now....it's a joke...it's almost not worth the button push to activate it....

Unfortunately, I already have the season pass, so I will be checking in next season to see if they've finally got their act together.

To be honest, I'm bored with the lack of modes. I'm fed up of waiting long periods for updates for key game mechanics, to then be disappointed by the outcome. The QA on updates leaves a lot to be desired.

I agree they could make revenge better. But not in regards to attack/defense. those revenge changes along with the gear changes were needed.
Revenge should either overall give you good resistence to CC. or straight up CC immunity in the beginning half of the time you have.
Unblockable bashes shouldn't knock people down. We're trying to make disablers less of a pick here with all changes.

And revenge should be off until you have 2 or more people tagging you. make the revenge gained static. meaning the amount of people won't matter beyond the requirement to get revenge gain.
A bar should be displayed so people can actually play around revenge's activation.
