If this is For honor in water, im out!

    Hi there !

The trailers looks amazing, and gameplay too, at E3 conference you said it was 5v5 pvp game. So i'd guess the concept is pretty near For honor, exept we dont chose heroes but ships.

If this is the concept of Skull and bones, the hype will clearly gone off for me. i dont talk about P2P or dedicated server here but if the game is consisting to group up with friends in menuing and then do a 5v5 in a loaded small map or medium map, its gonna fail, at least for me.

When i say im really excited about Skulls and bones, its because i want something a little bit immersive than just launching a 5v5 party for 10min and then go back to menu and redo the same stuff. I hope Ubisoft has find some cool idea instead of this !.

I hope i am wrong but regarding how Ubisoft works, i think not .

Well i already readed it !
but all this is a little bit fuzzy, i could read "Explore a shared open-ocean" that could mean its an open world, on the other side i read there is plenty of game mode wich include competitive 5v5 match. So im waiting to know more because right know its sounds not clear enough .

It is fairly unclear (and they might not have even settled on the specifics yet since it's Pre-Alpha), but the world composition sounds a bit like The Division - a large 'shared' ocean for PvE, with 'contested waters' areas where the PvP happens. The 5v5 loot game sounds like a separate mode you initiate from the open world somehow. Looking forward to getting more specifics!

I had the same thoughts about this game!!!

The trailer was absolutly great for me and i hope, that this game will contain more content than For Honor. It would be great if there would be a kind of PvE-Coop/Multiplayer. And a lot of ship customization options I spent a lot of time with the seafights in Black Flag and i think, that this could be a really good game.

    We will see it.

When I've read the title I've imagined a viking pirate riding a Kraken

Going back to Skull and Bones, it's hard to compare it to other titles. Stay around and you will get a better idea following the content we'll release in the future

Hard to compare? The idea is from Black Flag and the kind of MP/PvP remembers strongly at the concept which For Honor is following.

    Comparison

Maybe a bit of clarity should help this issue. A few key questions that, if answered, would help shape us an image of 'Is this going to be like For Honor', could be the following:

    1. On the following page (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...2-Key-Features) it's both mentioned that there will be an 'open world' which we 'influence' but also a '5V5' pvp combat system. In the gameplay revealed at the moment i write this, we only see the 5V5 gameplay. For Honor is also focussed on team gameplay, with us 'influencing' territories. Is there an actual open world which we can explore/ take down merchant vessels/ do things that we also could do in AC4: Black Flag, or will it be like For Honor where there's a world map with gamemodes on it?
    2. Secondly, there's a mention to 'seasons' which reminds me of For Honor's 'war seasons' in which we do the whole 'influencing' thing. Is the seasons mentioned in the post a sort of Q1 Q2 Q3 thingy or will there be goals that pirate fleets can achieve for 'supremacy' in the ocean?
    3. Thirdly, in For Honor, you've got classes and equipment, in the post there's mentioning of customisability also, but how customisable is it really? Like For Honor had different armourpieces which you could then paint with symbols etc, but down the line people just had variations of one another. Is the Skull and Bones customisationsystem more in-depth? Like can you customise your quartermaster, your captain, the name of the ship, the hull's colours, weaponry that can make a bigger gameplay change?
    4. In For Honor you practicly just had the three pre-determined factions you could join which had no real influence. Does Skull and Bones make it so that players can create "pirate fleets" which does influence on the places where the local navy will consider you hostile from the get-go or pirate safe-havens that will welcome you with open arms because of previous deals?

Now other things that could help us shape an image of the game are things that will be unique. These aren't really obligatory questions that you have to answer but they'd help us a bit more on getting a feel of "Oh the game is going to play THIS way"

    1. Is there any landdwelling IG? Like in AC4: Black Flag? If so, are there many locations available to dock/land in or is it restricted to pre-determined ports? Also, would there be a chatsystem or a system to do 'emotes'? The latter would be important to make an RP community, which can help prolong the games lifespan.
    2. The aforementioned forumpost also says that there will be new locations added to the game. Does this mean things like "Oh a place you can fast-travel to which is a seperate instance" or will the map be gradually expanded along the edges, slowly creeping over towards... let's say Indonesia?
    3. Again, the question of just how much customisation there is.

If you could answer this or if ubisoft says that they'll adress these questions/issues at a conference later we'd be thankful.

In the meantime we'll just plunder our patience.
