Hey!
So, guardbreak is a counter to dodging. Except a lot of dodgy (pun intended) characters like the peacekeeper and orochi have dodge attacks. If you guardbreak while they're using this dodge attack you'll just bounce off them. The issue here is that there are often situations where you bait a dodge and try to guardbreak only for you to bounce off and them hit you.
So, please let us guardbreak dodge attacks!
I'm down with this one, and you're right on the mark. A guardbreak should be exactly that, a guard break, not a grapple. The purpose of a guardbreak is to knock open an enemy's defensive stance, not to get make out close and hold eachother. I feel that they should completely change the way that the guardbreak mechanic works so that it is something similar to Dark Souls parries, where it throws open their defensive stance and leaves them open to an attack punish. I'd still like to keep the throws, so perhaps they could change the gb as stated but also incorporate an actual grapple mechanic as well that utilizes one of the buttons that doesn't presently have any function except for quick chat commands (e.g. the triangle button on PS4).Originally Posted by Arkhos1988 Go to original post
actually this happens with all the heros. once the attack starts you cant gb while they are dodging. personally i think GB shouldnt be part of the moveset.the way i see it. never in a fight were someone was grabed and just surrendered to the attacker(like oh crap you got me, cmon' get your free hit already) maybe if the target was out of stamina he can be gaurdbroken by a push animation or stune effect. sure why not. my point is the free hit system should not be part of any fighting game. what do you think ?
There's a reason for that. I believe it's something called balance.Originally Posted by Spectre_198 Go to original post
