    Boosting dominion zones

Does this absolutely piss anyone else off when you've been killed then you see that your team mates are literally watching you die while they just sit on a zone the entire match and boost? Drives me insane, could it not be beneficial to remove points to player score while boosting, it will only boost team score and not effect end game rewareds? Ill admit, this pisses me off to the point where i will quit a match, and now with this quit penalty im afraid others and myself will just go afk and say **** it.....

Boosting and defending points is how you win games. If I run to B to help you then an assassin can quickly realize our point is unguarded since there is a +1 on the zone. We just handed him a free zone.

Happens to me on occasion as well. I can understand boosting the zone, but when the fight's going on right next to the zone, getting some assistance wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Boosting and defending is a very poor choice in Dom.

▶ Dominion Tactics: This is why your team gets ganked and lose

The dominion format is about taking the initiative for your team, moving quickly to limit opponent's choices and forcing them into fruitless and time-consuming brawls that don't award them anything even if they win (ie. making them fight off points). Defending and boosting puts you in a passive position that just hands over the next move to your opponents, losing initiative, and it also wastes manpower for your team and forces the rest of the team to perpetually fight 1-man short.

The only instance where defending is a good choice is when:

    ● You've already taken other zones, and then most of your team stands at the opponent's side zone, draw aggro to lure them into a fruitless brawl

    ● You already know someone is moving to your zone, so you temporarily go and defend the zone, kill the taker, and then move on to other places again

    ● When the score is close, your team is breaking, you need to hold out a little longer to at least get things even

Other than these cases, defending zones is simply made useless when nobody goes there. When I see some of the "strong duelist" type players that can kill any one on my team members easily in 1v1s just taking up the spot and being all smug and cocky doing that "defend" thing -- I just suggest my teammates to leave that place alone, group up and go gank the rest 3 players with our 4 people and take the other two zones. That alone makes the "defender" useless without even having to even cross swords with him. When their team loses people and zones constantly due to being shorthanded every time, sooner or later that "defender" comes out of his cozy spot. What has he achieved? --- Nothing.

I respectfully disagree, I'll get into more details later on when I have the time but the results of your strat vs defending/boosting speaks for themself. You're just over 50% while I'm at 65%. That's a pretty big gap, so I must be doing something right by defending.

Thats how u should play dominion. I dont understand why peoples coming to dominion just to run around and fight with everyone?

IF U WANT TO JUST RUN AROUND THE MAP AND KILL SOMEBODY GO TO SKIRMISH, ITS A MODE WGERE U GOT POINTS FOR KILLS.

For killing 1 player in dominion u can get 5 points, i can do that by boosting zone in 5 seconds...

Its proven that if team defending 1 zone and farm minions + taking middle point have almost guaranteed win. I like play dominion last days but a lot of peoples ruining this mode because they just coming to run without a clue, fight with each other and getting ganged. This mode is about taking points and defending them how long u can because boosting giving u 100% points. But no, better go to the middle of the map and get killed by 2 or 3 enemies and than lose the match. Its also only "tactical" mode but peoples playing it like a deadmatch.

It almost same like in counter strike when player with bomb getting killed in the middle of the map, losing a bomb and giving free win to enemy team because he didn't follow main "order" of the game.

If you want only killing, play 2v2, 4v4 and duels.
Dominion primary goal is holding and guarding zones and win with team points.
A lot of peoples in dominion write me and cry, sometime write me than report me lol.
My tactics in dominion is guarding zones and kill incoming enemy, i ignored crying noobs peoples.

With due respect I know you to be already way above average in skill level, not to mention I have a pretty good idea what kind of "defense" you're talking about. The 65% you mention basically means 65% of the people playing domination basically fall under the exact same "trap" I've complained about in the link ... whereas my 50% means I can only get people to listen to my suggestions only 50% of the time.

The "defend to win" mentality is easier to carry out and make a difference with only 1 person being a really good player besides the rest 7 average people -- it already presupposed the opponents will always be disorganized and clueless -- which I'm trying to promote against by convincing people that even average players can avert falling under those same "traps" if they learn to think ahead.

Dominion in FH is the exact same format of PvP as domination PvP in GW series and some other games like Neverwinter. It's always proativeness that wins the game by far.

First complaints about people not boosting and just roaming and killing, and now complaints about people boosting and not roaming.
    Never satisfied.

It's in HOW and WHERE you kill the enemies that count, Derkwow. Seeking out and killing enemies to win Domination doesn't mean just go straight in like a fired arrow to any baddy you see and engage immediately.

it means seeking out and killing enemies as easily and efficiently as possible is the best way of defense in the "pre-emptive strike" sense. Your enemies can't take any nodes or hold anything for long when they're perpetually 1~2 people down.

For example, you watch the player score screen, you see 1 of the enemies are dead, and 3 of the enemies are handled well enough by your 3 friendlies. You get a feeling that the respawned guy will be coming to your side node.

Then why wait for him and "defend"?

You know where he spawns from, and you already know which path he is going to take if he's gonna get to your side node. Instead of meeting him at the node, if you take the initiative to find him and meet him out along the way, you force him to waste time in a place that's irrelevant, and even if you lose, he's not on the node, he has to make the rest of the way to the node and then take it -- giving more time for someone else in your team to react to that and prevent it.

It's this kind of aggressive gameplay that's required in Dominion -- I'm not talking about those useless mass-produced Orochis or PKs that avoid fights and just spend 80% of the time running and looking for empty nodes to take.
