Good ideas about forts maybe have some legendary ships to battle like in AC4 black flag like some flying Dutchman, black pearl and the likes I would like sea monsters like kraken, but also real ones like giant squids and big whales, even Moby **** and that you could only hunt with harpoons mounted and you could have some special customisations from them like a special ram for brig... You could even rip them in two by pulling in both direction with two ships ... Yeah I know a bit savage an not WWF but as long as we don't do it in real life
Being able to attack real fort. Different merchant ships maybe some ships transporting highly noble/powerfull men that we could ransom after?

    - Convoy attacks; difficulty and number of merchant ships scales with your progress

    - Night raids on forts and ports

    - Coastal ambushes using smaller ships and boats in environments like long and narrow straights between islands - Andaman sea, Madagascar and especially straight of Malacca for few examples

    - Hunting hunters - picking up rumors from local tribes of islands where the occasional docking place may happen for a manowar that hunted down you for days; you could retaliate and at least sink or burn down the manowar while it is on anchor or even docking for maintenance in some remote inlet - lets say it was en route to the harbor but got into the storm and was damaged. Now its your time to pay back. Capturing/boarding a manowar would be an option for the higher level players with great overall progress in game.

    - Capturing hostages for ransom; nuff said. previous commenter's idea

    - Naval art competition between you and AI pirates - something like harsh environment-weather-streams-winds - conditions in which you have a competition who gets to 'Tortuga' port faster with some news or rare goods. It would add some relief from constant plunder and show that piracy is not just about fighting and plunder but also about outstanding sailing skills pirates were always famous for

I hope they create some PvE mode or coop with friend. Create your own character, have skill tree, recruicting special crew members (gunsman, medic, cook, sailsman, repairman, navigator......) . Create good trading and crafting system. Have your own bay like AC black flag . Earn your reputation and bounty (you kill inocent people or destroy neutral ships you get bigger bounty and other player can get oportunity to catch you or destroy). Smugling stuffs, slave trades and more. Have chance sail with diffrent flags (when you pursuit another ship you can rise black flag like in "black sails TV" do it early they start run do it on last moment and they fight you but when you find that good moment you can negotiate with them or fight(if your rank or reputation is low they will give you small % of they cargo if its high they give you almost everythink)). Have oportunity to bribe a guards in town or prison. Have change turn ship on anchor. Create fire ship. Start blokade on towns. Finding treasures. And lots more. Cheers

Those were some pretty good ideas in the start there. I wanted to share a few of my own

Well they all sum up into one big idea, but you get the point. Here goes!

-What if you could set bounties on other players in the open world. I heard from somebody there were taverns, but that might not be accurate, but I know for sure a dev said something about a secret pirate base every player got, or whatever. There, you could create bounties as well as check what bounties have been set. This idea follows up into PVE by creating Bounty Hunters, which will hunt players with bounties on them (Duh). The trick, though, is you can't give away loot that you don't already have to create a bounty, and you don't get the bounty immediately. You must make it back to a safe haven (The base I mentioned earlier) in order to collect it. Thats if a Player collects it. If an AI manages to get the bounty, it will stay with the bounty hunter until he is sunk, and then any player around can get it. But Bounty Hunters won't go after every available bounty. The higher it is, the more Hunters will go after it. They won't automatically know where you are, though, but getting into a certain diameter of a ships area may trigger it.

Welp, that was my idea! Tell me if you like it, Ill be watching! I always am...
Cause I have nothing better to do

I fear we those who ask for single player, deep immersive world, colourful characters and scenarios we ask for too much or we are just looking in the wrong direction. The more I read and know about the game the more it seems to be inclined towards competition, multiplayer, skills, reaction, and eventually esports. 5x5 fights, teaming with other players, the simplicity of options and interface we saw in gameplay trailer as well as the pace of events of the fight; it all sums up. I hope I am wrong, I really do but the fact there was no news regarding anything sounding like single player/ AI / campaign whatsoever I doubt Im in the category of those likely to enjoy it. Again, I refuse to loose all hope since it looks beautiful and is something a lot of people wanted forever, a pirate game. Not a pirate adventure, sadly. But we will see. It's just prealpha. Will definitely keep an eye on all news and details regarding this game.

While not explicitly a PvE thing I really want to see a lot battling with the sea itself, not just the kraken (and hopefully some other mythical beasties) but maelstroms, waterspouts, squalls, and other violent weather.

Exactly, like I said, there could be some sort of naval competition, with maelstroms, thunderstorms, reefs and poweful streams and unpredictable winds that will prevent you from reaching the destination point. Successful mission would grant your ship (and you need to choose whichever ship you want to pass that trial with) bonuses to manevurability, speed, your captains glory among pirates and other sailors, respect/renown that would help you to hire better crewmates etc. Different types of ships could give different types of advantages during the trial - a frigate or manowar would be less maneuverable but more robust against big waves and uncontrollable streams, a brig or sloop less reliable but faster and better reacting to your commands and movements.
This may be done both for solo and for competition with AI/ players whoever gets first to the destination point gets all the bonuses.

Ok, well I think you'll be happy to know all players will experience weather problems. Like storms. And, thanks to dedicated servers, all players will experience that same weather at the same time. Although when I heard this, I had a little idea, like an "Eye of the storm" thing, where it was unaffected by the weather. But it would be dangerous to go there because other players would also likely go there.

I know there are underwater creatures, like Krakens, but it was also hinted there were sharks and stuff. Wether the sharks are just decoration, or a fightable creature, we have to wait to see. Wether there should be more of them, I don't think there should be. The more there are, the more difficult it would be to just sail around without having to fight one of these. I think the Kraken is enough. Although these are great ideas, and if the Kraken was an event type thing, those would definitely work!

Love the ideas guys, and keep on making more! Though I don't think ALL of them will get introduced. Just saying.

    Have a good day!
