I am really looking forward to play this game. I like the atmosphere and the world looks really nice. I know it was only Alpha game play at the moment but there are a few things I would like to see improvement on:
1. The AI seems to be blind or maybe they have sand in their eyes that they can not see well. It looks way too easy to access/approach an area or AI without being noticed. Climbing over walls, jumping into trees, standing in clear view and not being noticed or approaching from the side and not being noticed. It all looks way too easy. (and therefore boring)
2. I also did not like it when the eagle was hovering in one place when marking targets. I never see a real eagle hover in one place. It looks stupid. They should make it that you have to fly over the camp yourself and then mark all the enemies that are in visible in the path that you fly. Like flying with a remote control airplane over a location and you have to control it.
3. In the game play with the side quest where the boy gets beaten by the man you accept to do the mission, but after you agree the man continues to beat the boy. This looks a bit stupid as you just agreed on the mission. So the man should not continue to beat the boy.
Do you have any other things you like to see improved in AC Origins?
1. It was alpha and it might have been the first mission which might be easy to show us how to do it. Also there are people on the forum saying that enemies are too hard. So people will always think a game is too hard, too easy as it is subjective... later in the game... you might be saying it is too hard
2. I already replied on your other post Eagle DO hover... you may not have ever seen an eagle hover (you may not have ever seen an eagle? ) but it doesn't mean they do not hover. look at the youtube videos of eagles hovering.
3. Although we consider it wrong, in that time it may have been normal, (even now in some countries people beat children to an excessive level from our point of view) also we know nothing about the man and child... what if the child had just poked his brothers eye out with a sharp stick and blinded him? should he be beaten or not given any cake for a day?![]()
About the eagle, I do not understand how it is possible to see the memories of the eagle if you relive the memories of Bayek. Instead of an easy way to observe the enemy, why don't we have what we had in previous Assassin's Creed that one would observe the location carefully and then plan the attack. One does not need to know where exactly every guard is.Originally Posted by emrdesign Go to original post
The combat looks too arcadey like Elder Scrolls Online or Dark Souls. Arcade combat was the downfall of AC:Syndicate in my opinion. The combat system in AC Unity was a step in the right direction and would work well in Ancient Egypt especially without the nuisance of guns.. Also, I don't like how Ubisoft have kept the sluggish sprinting animations from Unity and Syndicate. Definitely should have changed that I think.
I don't dislike the eagle mechanic, after all is called eagle vision, but it should keep on moving while marking targets, not stand still like an actual drone. Also why crafting? Why does every single game need crafting nowadays? This ads nothing to the gameplay other than artificially inflate game time by forcing you to find materials because, as they state it in the stream, you need better weapons to take out higher level enemies.
So with everyone and their moms freaking out over the new combat system and not knowing much about the game really. I've noticed a few things that Ubisoft can potentially improve on that would make the game feel better when it comes out in October (of course this is my opinion but i do hope a lot of you share it)
1. the combat, imo is great, i like the new system, however I would recommend instead of having a glide dodge it should be more of a side step dodge. Having the minor animation of the Assassin side stepping to dodge rather than gliding would add to the immersion for one and also improve the combat in the smaller spaces (can't glide dodge in a small tent, it doesn't look right)
2. the climbing on anything is a great idea (boulders and mountains) however, you can clearly see that the animations aren't aligned correctly where the Assassin's feet will quite often go into the boulders. I believe in the normal process of polishing this would be corrected, but pointing it out is essential.
3. Third, which relates to the second point is the parkour and climbing animations have been sped up to an unreasonable level. Slow down, simple as that. By climbing so fast it takes away from the immersion and in fact makes the game look a bit sloppy.
4. From what i've noticed, there is only 5 main hidden blade animations. The air assassination, the climbing assassination, the in the bushes assassination, crouching, and standing. The Issue i have here is the standing assassination only has one animation where you turn the guard and stab his neck, the older games here did it better because it had multiple animations (stabbing them in the stomach, neck, front, back, side, etc.) Just add 1-3 more animations for the assassination
If anyone noticed any other real critics, please keep the list going so we can improve the current game (not change it completely). Let's be real, if you are complaining about the Hawk hovering then you don't know that birds can actually do that lol.
Stop complaining about pointless things and let's put our heads together to improve the current game so we can have a better experience together![]()
1. they wont change the animations. im sure of it.
2. maybe polishing will solve this. its a very hard thing to solve because of how animations and the geometry need to adapt. to me it sounds hard and nigh impossibe to get perfect.
3. i agree that in ACO and also in Ghost recon wildlands they wanted things to be "responsive" so they sped them up so much that they look sloppy. it wont change, but i agree.
4. yeah. noticed it too. in Shadow of mordor there were so many different stealth kills that it was a delight to SK a lot, but also in AC:U and AC:S they lacked variety. i doubt they will add more animations now, but i wish they would.
5. my own input -
get rid of the additional health and damage enemies get if they are more than 5 levels above yours. let the real numbers of enemy leveling do all the math and make higher level enemies tough, but fair. not artificially deadly.
(i know this wont change. just wishful thinking)
6. dont allow players to out-level the world. even if im level 30 i want to be challenged against enemies level 10. they shouldnt kill me in 3 hits, but they should still pose enough of a threat that i will need stealth or some tactics other than storm in and kill everyone. i would gladly accept enemies to scale to just a few levels below Bayek.
7. Are there difficulty settings? because i really hope so. the combat looks pretty easy and shallow (when facing enemies your own level, as UBI intends the game to be played) so at least make it hard.
The obligatory feedback thread is back I see![]()
Agree with all the points you made. What I'd add to that list is a way of stopping the player from being overpowered at level 40. Biggest letdown in Syndicate was that I killed enemy NPCs in one or two hits at level 10 it ruined the whole game for me.
Potential solutions, increase all enemy levels to 40 when you reach it and/or allow option to disable warrior skills if they make you too powerful.
