Wait... does Skull & Bones' naval combat actually not look arcade-y to you??Originally Posted by Majortouille Go to original post
Well, to me at least, but I cant speak to anyone else, it doesn't. If you look closely at the gameplay trailer, it looks far too complicated for an arcade-type game. The ability to swap between multiple weapons, to the crows nest, and then steering, the awesome gameplay mechanics such as the wind, it just looks awesome! Not really arcadey.
When I think of an arcade game, I think of stuff like Injustice 2, or a racing game. When I look at this, it just looks too complicated to be an arcade game.
That being said, I cant speak for everyone. I certainly cant speak for you. If it looks like that to you, then it does. Thats your opinion, and you have every right to your own opinion.

I haven't played it yet so I can't judge but only the way that the wind has a clear direction and (don't remember where I saw that) I saw a map with lots of arrows like if it was a fully detailed wind stream or water stream, that would be so realistic to play with the streams according to islands or even cut the wind of you enemy with your sails.Originally Posted by SLAPAPOW Go to original post
I know exactly what your talking about. I think.Originally Posted by Galakseeowonder Go to original post
The gameplay trailer for the game showed a map in the bottom right-hand corner. In it had streams which represented the wind. The developers say it can be used to bring a tactical advantage in battle. Moving with the wind speeds you up, while sailing against it slows you down. Either way, it has its advantages. The game is about positioning. If you learn to position yourself properly, you can be a major threat. If you can't... Better learn quick.
Speaking of gameplay, I think it looks awesome! I know some people have said its just an exact copy and paste of Black Flag, but they're just haters. I know because even the wind is a brilliantly new aspect. Can't wait to play it!

I very much don't want that, I see boarding as something akin to an execution in For Honor. It looks cool and you get some kind of bonus for doing it (and/or perhaps the enemy gets some kind of additional negative effect)Originally Posted by SLAPAPOW Go to original post
Actual boarding during a 5v5 battle would take far too long and leave your team (and your ship) at a pretty big disadvantage. This would be a pretty big problem to a competitive game.
Just making a proper single player pirate game like Ac4 blackflag but with mission types, better/innovated mechanics, RPG elements and character customization, and a good story.
Hell they can even use the same climbing mechanics or something like AC syndicate. No one will care bc it will be a pure pirate story.
Pvp only with ship battles only was something no one asked for

The enemy which lost boarding is out of the battle that's kind of sufficient but I think he should keep what he has won (drops/xp) except loot so far. Boarding isn't something casual and easy and I don't want it to be in the game like something you would do when you isolated one of your foes and are safe from the rest of your enemies or even when the battle is ending and there is only one foe left and your teammate can help you capture the faw (grape shots swivel guns...)Originally Posted by Sh1neSp4rk Go to original post
I do want a good customizer, and Id like to see some boarding action. Heck, this is coming from AC/BF, right? But, it seems like a lot of the suggestions I'm reading, not just from this post, are wanting some kind of Pirates of the Burning Sea 2.0..And, I just don't think this game needs that, for it to be good.
