Most people will opt for a sale or even a pass if there are no land-based activities. the game will become too repetitive to warrant 60 euros and endless blue ocean graphics.
Ubisoft is totally missing the point of the pirate experience which doesn't just revolve around blowing up an infinite amount of sea ships which will become dull fast. It would be great to travel to different ports to trade and have some offshore antics and mini games. Being restricted to just the ship will make the game feel more limited and repetative. which is o.k but whats the point when Black Flag is on sale for 10 bucks and thre is way more content and immersion.
P.S I love your games and don't mean to come across that I will hate the game! it looks beautiful its just I have some concerns about the direction Ubi took on this one.
Go and read pirate latitudes by Crichton for a good idea of Pirate life! Some of the storylines actually parallels Black Flag!
This game better be Black Flag 2. I want brutal dark souls for ship combat. I want 300 vs 300 pvp. I want a strong 90 hours main story campaign. I want strong progression system. I want full exploration of a small dense beautiful world.
I want for honour combat system. I want AC level of parkour with sword play. Wr the players gonna give them hell if they don’t
Totally agree...Originally Posted by Pythax Go to original post
When I found out this game was just a multiplayer version of black flag’s naval battles, without a player character to walk on land and explore and get into combat with — my interest in this game went to zero....
Like you I had always hoped that they would build upon the foundation that Black Flag laid, and make a full on pirate RPG’s with a proper economy — similar to Meier’s Pirates.
My vision would be where you can
- buy or steal different ships and upgrade them
- sell goods for higher prices in different locations (a real economy)
- customise the look of your character, and upgrade them. Be able to buy and customise different weapons and items
- be able to recruit a crew from NPC’s in the world, dynamically, similar to Watchdogs Legion, with perma death. Be able to customise their gear and clothing and upgrade them as they gain experience.
Then keep a lot of what was in Black Flag, because it go a lot right, the forts, the raiding of the plantations etc, the stealth, the combat etc.
Here’s hoping Ubisoft will change this game into a flushes singleplayer Pirate RPG, with MP if they wish.
