For the sake of clarification and clearing up any misunderstandings;
- Are you saying that there will not be any land-based activities at all?
- Will our captains (the avatar that we create) even be able to leave the helm of the ship and walk around on the ship deck?
- Will we be able to manually board other ships? (and no, an automatic sequence cutscene does not count as proper boarding).
- Will we be able to enter the ship interior and explore below decks?
- Will we be able to enter our captains quarters?
Please address these concerns with as definitive an answer as you can, even a simple yes or no would greatly help.
Thanks in advance!
I really think the game requires land-based quests and treasure hunting in order to enrich and develop the character's identity and personality and give punters the pirate game they always wanted. Complex ship battles but with good swashbuckling treasure hunting and deep storylines like Michael Crichtons "Pirate Latitudes" Novel.
I think having this amazing idea for a pirate game and with all its amazing graphics Ubi should take advantage of what we are expecting.
If you look at other pirate games like Black flag or even Monkey Island!!! there is room for land-based treasure hunting, pirate recruiting, bar fighting, ship customisation and trading and general questing in accordance with that era.
Not sure people will go out and pay 60 Euros for a game that only has ship battles in it when Black Flag still offers more exploration. Im pretty sure after a while the ship fighting will get repetative and most gamers will wish for some time away from the sea!!!
I think I can see why people would want this and why ubisoft would possibly be steering clear.
End of the day, it’s ubisofts game they’re developing. They’ll ask for feedback but don’t need to use that feedback; you’re not going to please everyone!
If they don’t add this, you’ll get players complaining, if it is added, you’ll get players conplaining.
Personally, I’ll play it either way but if land based explorations added, it’ll be too familiar to black flag. This would then possibly get the players complaining that ubisofts copies black flag.
I’m excited for it and hopefully will play like a proper naval battle!
no, people will stop complaining if they make it a pirate game with both land and sea gameplay! an OPEN WORLD where you can run and jump around freely! and again, we do not care if its their game or not, we are making suggestions how it can be the best pirate game ever! but copying world of warships instead of black flag ain't going to solve it, either!Originally Posted by sisankabrah Go to original post
it doesnt have to be black flag 2 if they make it open world! and I will tell you again and again, if they wanna make this a good pirate game or the BEST pirate game, then it needs to be a massive open world with running and jumping around freely in the entire map and exploring islands, diving underwater encountering dangerous sea animals, sea and land action, manual boarding, treasure hunting and so much more! I know that all of this is in black flag BUT lemme tell you this: black flag had everything you could do as a PIRATE so why not in skull and bones as well?
skull and bones is a PIRATE game and black flag is a good example! making it a naval-only game is NOT going to do it at all! it will drop very hard to be honest...very very hard, I can assure you that
You can tell me as many times as you want, but it’s not what Ubisoft are developing.Originally Posted by Captain_Ryder_7 Go to original post
It’s a naval game. They’ve said it from the start off and I’m unsure why you’re finding it difficult to understand that.
Yes it would be amazing to have this in, however, it’s not gonna happen and you know this.
Maybe in the second one it’ll be there. But not this one as that’s not what’s being developed!
yes I see you want the same thing and I know they are UNFORTUNATELY not developing these things so that is why we are reminding them to develop these things for this game after all? I mean we are just saying it you know..and we are pretty mad to be honest that ubisoft just wont understand what a good game is...or a good PIRATE game taking black flag as an exampleOriginally Posted by sisankabrah Go to original post
I was very excited to know "Ubisoft is making a MMO Black Flag Game".
I've recruited almost 20 friends to play with me.
But now I see, that this game will be only repetitive sea combat. Sadly...
If any Ubisoft is reading this, please, make your best efford to make community's opinion to go further, until our voice reaches the right persons.
As an experienced and studied game developer (game design/level design/writing/proposal/team management) I can say that Ubisoft is making a great failure here...
They are losing community support, and mainly, HEAVY PROFIT POTENTIAL.
When indie developers make a game, they give it the best they can, and invest money from where they don't have, just to polish the very smallest detail in their game as best as possible. They put REAL effort to make it look like the best game EVER they could do in their carreer, the game that they will be remembered for developing.
I can't believe Ubisoft, as great as they are, with countless Triple A's on the market, aren't willing to put more effort and investiment into this game.
I doubt that they can't see the profit right before their eyes.
I'll keep my faith in you, Ubisoft, please, don't disapoint us.
I can only wonder about the huge percentage of players that will quit Skull and Bones before they ever buy it, because it can be a boring repetitive game...
If the community voice can reach the right person, I hope they answer us, announcing some future updates on the game to give community what they want:
a boring repetitive one-faced sea-only 10min quit bad game design game with waste of good potential from ubisoft
THE BEST PIRATE GAME EVER!!!
well said but I dont think ubisoft is ever gonna listen to this to be honest...many people already lost hope on ubiOriginally Posted by wkfreitas23 Go to original post
If you can't board and capture a ship, then I don't get it. If this is just going to be an "arena" style shooter with ships, no thanks. I love the game play of the ship mechanics, but you need some type of persistence. The ability to build and customize a ship. Ship to Ship combat and boarding etc... was a huge part of the experience. That has to be part of the game. I really don't care if there are any land based activities. But, you need sword fighting and boarding with ship to ship combat.
